Mark and Dale Bruss
They are all going to have the same issues. First make sure the installation is tight. Often the rear track that the unit sits on, the uinits is not tight. Second, the turntable and wire racks need to be stored outside the unit. Barbaraok
Or pad the rack/turntable so they don't move. Perfect place to carry light weight items like paper plates, loaf of bread, dish towels/pot holders, etc. Barb & Dave O'Keeffe 2002 Alpine 36 MDDS (Figment II), 2018 Ford C-Max HYBRID Blog: http://www.barbanddave.net SPK# 90761 FMCA #F337834
2gypsies
Are you sure it's not the turntable rattling? Remove it when traveling....cheaper than buying a new one. GeorgiaHybrid
Cut a length of foam swimming "noodle" that fits vertically between the turntable plate and the top of the microwave. It will keep it from bouncing around. 2023 Thor Magnitude XG32
AquaDawg
Thanks for the replies everyone, but our turntable and rack is always removed and stored for travel. My DW has been closing the door on a dish towel in an attempt to stop the door from rattling, which seemed to help a little with the noise, but it appears something internal is rattling.Hence the need for advice on purchasing a new unit... Mike and Claudia
We replaced ours about 4 years ago. YIKES! It is HEAVY, the space is limited and you MUST fit it into the exact space, otherwise it turns from a minimum project into a new cabinet job. We searched the net until we found an exact match. It happened to be from NY City, but that didn't matter since it was Free Shipping! We had a "warranty plan" and they demanded that we get out an RV Tech to take it out to make a "professional decision" on the problem. I took pictures as he removed it, thus it wasn't SO hard to replace it. The big blessing was that the "back plate" that the MW hung on was an exact match to the old one, so we just cleaned and reused the old one. It was hard and heavy, but we manged for the two of us squeezed in and hang it. Wala! Traveling America in "God's Grace"
nana25k
Ours is the original 16 year old Sharp ( well as far as we know) and it rattled. Some simple investigation showed that the bottom left corner if the control panel, above the door open latch was loose. Who knew it could make sdo much noise!!! A little black electric tape, because it matches and easy to install, solved the issues Ron & LindaClass of 20072000 Monaco Diplomat 2005 Honda Element"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" Theodore Roosevelt"We can't control the wind, but we can adjust our sail""When man gave up his freedom to roam the earth, he gave up his soul for a conditioned ego that is bound by time and the fear of losing its attachments."
