maggie blair Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 I am Boondocking and my generator is not working. My neighbor offered to connect my electrical cord into his power system. My RV is a 30 amp and his is a 50 amp. Will this hurt either system? I am doing this to recharge my batteries. Maggie Blair
theeyres Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 Charging batteries should be fine. Just don't try to run your microwave or ac! It's nice to have such helpful neighbors. 2007 Arctic Fox 32.5 rls for full-timing, now sold. 2014 Sunnybrook Sunset Creek 267rl for the local campgrounds now that we are off the road2007 Silverado 2500 diesel Loving Green Valley, AZ (just South of Tucson)
AFchap Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 And note that you would be connecting via an adapter to a 20 amp outlet. That's why you would not be able to run any large electrical loads. But it be great for charging batteries & having lights. Paul (KE5LXU), former fulltimer, now sometimer...
