pcook35 Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Hello fellow travelers. I am reaching out to you as a tremendous resource. My wife and I are currently headed to Scottsdale, AZ for medical appointment and we are currently looking for sites to stay. Not super interested in intercity sites, but would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you.
Barbaraok Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 How far are you willing to drive. Look at Maricopa Cty Userey Park north side of Mesa. Barb & Dave O'Keeffe 2002 Alpine 36 MDDS (Figment II), 2018 Ford C-Max HYBRID Blog: http://www.barbanddave.net SPK# 90761 FMCA #F337834
2gypsies Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction has some full hookup sites. Awesome surroundings and it certainly wouldn't be crowded at this time of year. VallAndMo Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Hello pcook35, +1 for Usery Mountain (I think that's what BarbaraOK meant) Regional Park and for Lost Dutchman State Park, we've stayed in both and liked them. We've also stayed at McDowell Mountain RP, which is closer at North Scottsdale and, across metro Phoenix, at Leaf Verde RV Resort (a private RV park) and Buckeye Hills RP (a very nice dry camping, free park) and loved them both. Hope that helps, -- Vall and Mo. Getting ready to join the RV full-time lifestyle in 2017!
soos Posted September 9, 2016 Report Posted September 9, 2016 Our doctors are in Scottsdale and we stay at Westworld of Scottsdale. Huge place, nothing fancy but 10 minutes from Mayo. Mesa would be a fair drive to Scottsdale I think. http://www.westworldaz.com/#about Sue and Paul- fulltimed 2009 -2015 with Dozer, our Gray Tuxedo cat 2012 DRV Mobile Suites 36TKSB4 pulled by a 2020 F350 Platinum Our "vacation home" : 2018 Arctic Fox 1150 truck camper RIP Dozey http://soos-ontheroad.blogspot.com/
pcook35 Posted September 9, 2016 Author Report Posted September 9, 2016 Thanks to all. SOOS your right on - we will be visiting the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale. I wasn't sure about traffic and drive time, so thank you for the West World recommendation. We are looking for for a park with full hook-ups for our 5th and will be wintering over at the right park for medical attention. Thank you all we are still looking. Planning on arriving in Scottsdale 10/1/2016.
2gypsies Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 If using Mayo - a top-notch facility, Eagle View RV is the most convenient: http://www.eagleviewrvresort.com/ Best of luck!!!
