We are considering using a consignment dealer for sell our fiver. Does anyone have experience with dealers in the Greater Phoenix Area. Positive and negative.

We bought our current trailer here: http://www.rvarizona.net/default.asp We came up from Tucson and didn't want to waste a lot of time and they were very good in not messing around with a lot of negotiating. We didn't come to a deal. A couple weeks later we found another trailer at another place, called and said we still wanted the Sunnybrook but found another deal unless they would meet our offer. They did so. Can't say anything about the consignment end as we were on the buying end but I feel they were honest and straight forward in negotiating. They are a dealer and you will never get the best of a dealer...but I would deal with them again and would feel good leaving a rig there on consignment.

2014 Sunnybrook Sunset Creek 267rl for the local campgrounds now that we are off the road

We bought our class C at Orangewood RV in Surprise on Bell road. They seemed straight forward. Showed us the NADA values which matched what we had printed for ourselves, negotiated with the seller in a timely manner. Handled our financing as well. Pleased with them from the buyers end. We've had some repair work done there also and found it satisfactory.

Be very careful when consigning in AZ. It seems as though they want to hold the title to your RV while you have it on consignment with a power of attorney signed by you. That may be OK in a world where nothing ever goes wrong, but what happens when or if that dealer goes bankrupt or is a crook?

Bottom line....... Be very, very careful when consigning.

BudWizer, you are right on the money. I don't know about the power of attorney situation but two outfits in Yuma, AZ., Your RV Wizard, a couple of years ago and just this past snowbird season, R V Peddler skipped town with RV's sold, with or without titles, and sellers never getting their money. We know two folks that got caught up in this ripoff.

We made a nice 'last trip' with ours and took it to PPL Consignment in Houston, TX. It sold within a month in November. It is well-known with RVers and is on a popular snowbirding route. It gets a LOT of future buyers coming through. I'd recommend them. Our buyer flew in from Florida to purchase it. Good luck!
