SWharton
We of course tow a toad but have a question. Our manual tells us the procedure to go through to begin towing and to do the procedure again in 8 hours if we are still towing. Our question is do we need to do the procedure if we stop for a break or lunch? We tow a 2013 Honda CRV.
Kirk W
We towed two different CR-Vs over the years, the first was towed more than 40k miles and the second perhaps 20k. What we always did was to count the 8 hours as starting from the time we shut off and hooked up, including any lunch or tour breaks. If the 8 hours expired before we were to stop for the day, we did do the start tow procedure again. Most days we would leave between 9 & 10 am and stop for lunch around 12 or 12:30 for between 30 min. and an hour. Since we nearly always were parked for the day prior to 4 pm, we did not bother to do the travel procedure after lunch break. If we thought that there might be a long day ahead, we would then do it after lunch just to reset the start point of that 8 hours.
SWharton
Thanks Kirk. This is what we have been doing but then we started questioning our decision. We didn't want to damage the car so thought we would check. See you at Escapade.
