Most places have weekly and monthly rates that offer significant savings over daily (unless you are near Seattle, where from May - Sept only daily rates). Generally, weekly rates will equally 6 nights (or just 5 nights if a good park) and monthly will be somewhere around 2 1/2 the weekly rate.

Hi Barb. Yes, weekly and monthly rates are great. Using the chart to compare them to helps decide if you might want to stay put for a little while and reap some savings.

I'm changing that website soon so the link soon won't work. Changing hosts so I'll lose the name for a month or so.

I posted this link under General but since this is the BUDGET topic I think it should go here.

I made charts for campground fees by day, week and month to help us all figure our budgets. I started at $5 a day and went to $81 a day.

I don't know where they stayed for $5/night, but we have paid a little as $2.50/night and many free nights as well. No FHU, but our RV is self contained so have no reason to need hookups.  The really low cost places are National Forests and BLM campgrounds.

If you are an Escapee, the "Stoppin Spots" make for some very good and inexpensive places to stay, along with Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, and a lot of other free locations. At $5/night it sounds like dry camping at one of the Escapee co-op parks or Rainbow parks. If you get off of the interstate highways and use the US routes, there are many small towns that allow free or very low-cost camping in the city park.

Freecampsites.net   Sandi hates the interstates so we do a lot of US routes many one night free or donation and some $10-15 some not more than 30 amp and water in a parking lot.  Some very nice city parks 50amp and dump stations.   Some listed are boondocking sites.

links don't seem to work

There have been many times with I have done an internet search for the words in a link which no longer works and came up the the new URL.

Takes a little work, but gets the job done.

I just tried your search method, I did locate the OP's old website, which has a hot link to her new website, which is not active: http://roadtripsandcampfires.com/

Apparently she hit a snag along the line.

You might be surprised just how common that is and how few of those who come here for advice in going on the road full-time ever actually do so, or who stay out more than a year or two.

EDIT    Her email does not appear to be active either.

About http://roadtripsandcampfires.com/   As I and many others have found, a blog or website is pretty easy to setup, but it takes quite a bit of time and dedication to update it every week or so and a lot of work if you update it every day.
