Escapees RV Club is excited to offer a historical opportunity to travel to Cuba on a cruise, sailing January 8, 2017, for a 7 day-round trip from Miami, Florida, on Fathom’s beautiful ship, Adonia!

 

You can enjoy the rich, vibrant culture and learn about the fascinating history, literature and architecture of Cuba.

 

The pricing will include your cabin, all meals on the ship, lunch during scheduled ports-of-calls activities, on-board immersion experiences and certain on-the-ground cultural-immersion activities.

 

 

Some of the activities will be:

· Enjoying an authentic, home-cooked Cuban lunch, at one of Cuba’s many family-owned, in-home restaurants, known as Paladares. Meet the family that is cooking your meal, and learn about the challenges and joys of being self-employed in Cuba.

· Visit Hemingway’s former home in Havana and enjoy an excursion to the nearby fishing village of Cojimar, his favorite retreat and the setting for The Old Man and the Sea.

· Enjoy performances by Cuba’s best rumba dancers and musicians.

· Tour an organic farm and learn about the agriculture in Cuba.

· Visit San Juan Hill.

· Visit an Artisans’ Market, the Almacenes de San José - Havana’s largest craft market, and be amazed at the treasures, produced by the local craftsmen.

· After the day visiting Havana, enjoy the option of a relaxing evening on the ship or experience a night in Havana at one of the cities tropical Cabarets, arriving in a classic American car.

· Visit a UNESCO World Heritage site, built to protect the Port of Santiago.

· Enjoy breathtaking views from San Pedro de la Roca Castle and tour the castle.

 

 

On-board the ship:

· Relax and enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

· Unwind in the spa, grab a mojito and sit by the pool

· Enjoy a card game with your friends.

· Experience Cuban music and dancers; Cuban movies.

· Attend interactive sessions about Cuba, take a class in basic Spanish, a class in photography

· Experience the “Cuban Marriage” - a traditional ceremony that begins with a taste of Cuban rum and ending with the famous Cuban cigar.

This HOP includes considerable walking; please wear comfortable walking shoes.

 

Booking your cabin – Recall dates:

Escapees can only hold the group space for a limited time before the cruise line recalls our unassigned cabins. After the recall date, Escapees may not be able to secure a cabin and if we can, it will not be at the rates listed here.

 

This cruise to Cuba will sell out quickly, so it’s very critical that you book early, even if the cruise is scheduled for NEXT YEAR! Once the recall dates have passed, it will be harder to get a cabin, if one is left.

Passports

You will need your passports on this cruise. Once on-board, the ship will help you obtain your VISA.

 

All passports must be current. Even if there are six months left on your passport, you may be denied entry into a country and a VISA cannot be issued. The travel industry is warning us that sometimes it can take up to three months to renew or apply for your passport.

 

 

Fathom Cancellation Insurance
The cruise line is not offering cancellation insurance for this cruise. If you cancel your trip, there is a related cancellation fee: more than 90 days before departure: no fee. 90 to 76 days:fee is deposit. 75 to 46 days: 50% of fare. 45 to 31 days: 75% of fare. 30 days or less: 100% of fare.

 

 

By attending this event, you are agreeing to the following:

In the event of loss or theft, no claim will be made upon Escapees, its volunteers, employees, or agents. Volunteers might be directing and assisting you in your parking areas, but it is the driver of the RV, or the driver of the other vehicle, who are ultimately responsible for avoiding obstacles or dangerous situations, and is to be solely responsible for any damage to one’s property or the property of others. As an attendee at this event, you are granting your permission to be filmed, videotaped, audiotaped or photographed, and granting full use without compensation.

Once the cruise line releases the prices, (this week) I will post them on this forum and the Escapees HOPs webpage at: https://www.escapees.com/fun/hops under the Cuba Cruise.

 

Since this cruise is with the Fathom cruise lines, it works differently than we are accustomed too, when it comes to cruising. The Cuba cruises are selling out quickly, so Fathom allows us to put money down to secure a cabin.

I have received the prices from the cruise lines and updated my prior post, if you would like to read it.

 

Below is the pricing and what it includes. It's not like a normal cruise where we pay for extra off ship excursions. The prices include some of the ships excursions.

Edit: The Adonis was previously running very formal cruises, which I REALLY wasn't looking forward to, so I sent Fathom an email....here's their response.

 

Dear Dave,

 

Thank you for contacting Fathom.

 

Our trips ave very active when on the ground in the destinations so we have chosen to keep a relaxed atmosphere on board the ship. There will be no formal dining and we will keep to resort casual setting. While there is no formal dining we will still require individuals to be fully dressed (no swimwear).
