Just a thought- I have a Cummins, and when the fuel filter is replaced you must change BOTH gaskets. (That's not an "extra" in there)

If not changed, that's the symptoms you get, air in fuel.

How timely. My brother was just telling me how he got a smoking deal on a Sprinter ($500) because the previous owner was tired of throwing money at it. Took him a few hours to find two leaks in the suction side of the fuel lines, both caused by "technicians", at the dealer.
