chuckbear
We've been parked under some wonderful old oak trees for a few months and man what a mess. About 6 months ago we recoated the rubber roof on our Fleetwood Bound with EPDM RV Rubber Roof coating. It looked great until now. So we are looking for some first hand suggestions on what others used on a like roof to clean the tree sap and other stuff the trees have dropped. I have already tried various soap and water types like Joy and our regular car wash. Nothing has touched it so far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Devilishjim
Well guess you learned parking under an Oak tree is not good ! They also like to shed big limbs My thoughts are that I have never seen anybody wash their sticks n bricks roof and from what I have read thats the best way to do an EPDM. Let mother nature do it. crstrm
I use Bon-Ami powder cleanser and a soft-bristled brush. Bon-ami is slightly abrasive, but free of bleach and any acid-like additives (like lemon)unlike Comet or other similar products. It is available at most Ace Hardware stores. http://www.bonami.com/ Art
DuneElliot
Good thread. I'm repainting my EPDM roof this summer so the links are extremely useful.
chuckbear
The Dicor link gives the typical manufacturer's recommendations, not a lot of help. What I ask is if anyone has used a cleaning product on a EPDM roof to clean tree stuff with some success. Carstrom did respond with the suggestion of BonAmi. I have tried Barkeepers Friend without a lot of success on the tree sap. Chuck
Ray,IN
Before Dicor began selling their own brand of commercial products they recommended Spic N Span for cleaning their EPDM membrane.
