elmhurst
I have had Good Sam Roadside Svc for approx. 5 yrs, but in last year quality of service has deteriorated (the Leomise affect?). I tow a 5th wheel with Dodge 3500 so must insure vendor can handle my needs. Has anyone had good luck with other vendors like Coach Net?
Trainer
Since 2001, CoachNet has worked fine for me twice. Had help on site within 1.5 hours each time. Once towed with no damage and once fixed so I could drive away and repair at my convenience. Both times, had phone calls updating me on the progress of help coming my way. richfaa
Over the years we have had everyone of them and when we used them served us sort of well. We have GS now. We look for specials from the providers when our subscription is up an if there is a good price go with that one. We do note that service providers prefer the ones that pay with a corporate credit card as it insures quick payment.
Kirk W
We have had both but stay with Coach Net since they have joined the Escapees and give members a discount. Our only time being towed the service from Coach Net was superior. We have also found their phone RV tech to be very helpful. Been with them now for about 10 years and will stay with them as long as we RV.
RBH
I've said it before but check your RV insurance policy, many have a low cost rider that covers towing and roadside assistance. Mine thru Blue sky has been excellent both times I've had to use it.
Kevin H
Used to have Coach Net. Tried to use it twice and both times were negative. First time I lost a bearing on the tag on our '99 Dolphin gas MH with Ford F53 chassis. We were 30 miles outside of Little Rock, AR. They said they did not have anything in the area to tow us. After about 5 hours they were going to dispatch a mobile mechanic. I called him and he said that he could not fix the bearing on the road side, was going to chain up the axle and drive the rig 100 MILES - yes, I said 100 MILES, to his shop. Told him no. CN did not offer anything else. I found my own mobile local mechanic and took care of it myself. CN did nothing. Second time, lost the tread off a tire near Waco, TX. CN said they had a tire but it would be $600. I told them I had a tire dealer close by with a tire for $400. CN said he was not a CN vendor so they would not OK the service. Paid myself and sent letter to CN. They did come through with payment for the service call. I'll give them some credit, they did ultimately pay for the tire service call. But, both times they left me on the side of the road and I had to get my own service. For me: Roadside Assistance - Nope . Service, maybe - if you are willing to force the issue post incident. Can't speak to other Roadside Services but now I have a RA rider on my insurance with Progressive. Have not used it so no review available. Ray,IN
You will find forums on the internet wailing about poor service from all ERS providers, but read very few praises. It's human nature I guess. Coach-Net and Good Sam ERS mostly use the same contracted providers in the same areas. IMO timeliness and quality of service you receive depends on several factors not under control of Coach-Net or Good Sam ERS. I would not hesitate to hire either one, but I would not buy RV coverage from AAA.
pugsly
I rolled with AAA for 20+ years and then dumped them after I ran out of fuel and they said they couldn't help me because it was a diesel. I looked at the options and chose Coach-Net over Good Sam based on the feedback, but YMMV. Good luck!
bigjim
I have had 2 calls and 1 lockout call with Coachnet in about 10years. 1st one didn't go smoothly but ultimately had a good outcome. #2 went better but with a very long wait to get the proper tow to me but probably could not have been avoided. I still am overall happy with them and have stayed with them.
Dutch_12078
We've had very good service from Coach-Net whenever we've needed it. What would have been our cost for tows alone over the years has more than paid for over 10 years of annual subscription costs. Good Sam does not actually have an ERS, but the contracted out service they do offer has improved somewhat since the switch to Allstate from their previous contractor based on the reviews I've read. As I recall, their current Allstate contract expires in 2019.
Bill&Cindy
I have Coachnet and only tried to use them once. After that experience, I will be switching to something else. The person on the phone did not understand my problem and no tech available, so they wanted to dispatch a mobile service. They would cover the service call, but I had to pay labor and parts. All I needed was to get the trailer on the truck somI could take it to a dealer to repair a landing jack.
EagleEye
I've had Coach Net for four years and have had reasonably good service. I've used them a couple of times. I had a blow out on the RV and called them and had service there within about 45 minutes. The second time I had a problem with a tire on the truck when I hit something in a construction area and ruined the tire. I was in Cincinnati and it took them almost 5 hours to find someone to come out and replace the tire. I could understand the wait if I'd been in the middle of nowhere but in a city that large there should of been several providers to handle the problem. Besides that they wouldn't cover the service call because the considered it an accident and not just a tire failure. I still have them and will probably keep them unless some other service looks better when it comes time to renew.
LindaH
We've used both Good Sam's ERS and CoachNet and have good service from both (we're currently using CoachNet). Good Sam provided us with a tow one time and a tire replacement on a Sunday afternoon in nowhere Texas when we were caught without a spare (we paid for the tire, of course). CoachNet provided us with a tow. All three incidents were taken care of professionally and within a reasonable amount of time.

Jim Gell
We used Coach-Net once. There own phone rep seemed very good. When things started going bad, she offered to fire the tow operator they originally sent and send someone else if we wanted to wait a second time. They did not hesitate towing trailer to a campsite and HDT to a truck repair center. I felt CN was doing their best to accommodate us, but had a low bid tow operator that was everything and less than they paid for. Jim
gjhunter01
I never had a road service contract and always seemed to get along with out one. My last 3 tire situations I was able to drive to a tire repair shop to get them fixed. I figure if I ever do need a tow service, I would just contact someone locally and hopefully not during a emergency where I can even check on price and ETA first. The $$ saved on premiums over the years should more than pay for a couple of tows if the time ever happens. Greg
oldcodger
CN won't take me. Have tandem axle HDT as TV. Satisfied with GS the last four years. Once the customer service operator and I establish the fact that the Volvo is not a farm tractor it's all good from then on.

Greg Because of the distance the truck had to come for one tow a few years ago, our cost would have been almost $600 for a 5 mile tow to a campground where I did my own repairs. And that was the closest source with the right equipment to do the job. The total out of pocket costs for our tows and other services since we switched from TT's to motorhomes 10 years ago would pay for at least those 10 years of ERS subscriptions so far, so basically, the service has been free. 2gypsies
We've just used a rider on our insurance policy @ approx. $15. Our only use for it was when our truck blew an engine in Death Valley. Two tows came immediately from Lone Pine, CA - 75 miles away; one for the truck and one for the 5th wheel we had at the time. No charge for either towing. Fun2travel
We have Coach Net. Can't say enough good things about them. We broke down on Easter Sunday in Houston. They sent two wreckers out to us, one for the truck, and one for the 5th wheel. It took less than an hour. We were then towed to a nice campground for the night. The next day, they called us and came out again to pick up our truck and towed it to the Dodge dealer we wanted. It was such a relief! They were curteous and Very Helpful setting up the RV site as well as making the wrecker arrangements. We felt so much better thanks to their professionalism. telcoman
I had a trailer tire blowout on I5 last week. I called good Sam. They wanted the model number and length of my trailer which they could not find in their system. After 20 frustrating minutes with my cell running flat, I hung up on them, got out my bottle jacks and did it myself. I will not be renewing. I told them I had a good spare, all I needed was a tow truck with a frigging jack.
elliott&vicky
I've had to call CoachNet twice. The first call was for a tow for my tow vehicle. The rep couldn't get it into her mind that I didn't need my 5th wheel towed. I hung up and called again, explained it to the second rep and had a wrecker there in 20 minutes. Last week, the springs on my front axle snapped. I was on the edge of a busy highway. The rep asked if I was in a safe place and after a few questions put me on hold and called the State Police which dispatched a cruiser to partially block the road. The state police had called a towing service which arrived just ahead of the police. CN told me they had called a wrecker company and were talking to them about my tow. I told them the police said I had to get the trailer off the road as rush hour was about to happen. They told me if I used the wrecker service that was there, that I would have to pay and be reimbursed. The service on the scene was excellent, and blocked and secured the front axle and got me off the highway. CN, in the meantime, negotiated with the wrecking company, and they agreed to tow me to the CN recommended spring company. CN paid the company directly. I was very pleased with the CN service, and my only complaint is that they kept calling me to see if everything was going OK. Not a bad thing though. I'll keep using CN in the future
richfaa
My experience with coach net was that after a blowout on I-77 they asked me if I was in a safe place. I said I was able to get into a Loves truck stop.( I was driving a dually and the inside dually blew). They said that since I was in a truck stop that could do the service they would not send out repair service nor would they pay Loves for the service. I replied "Say what" Supervisor please....The supervisor approved the service at loves. The other CN experience was that they paid the service provider with a bad credit card so although I did get service Via CN we changed providers. What would they say when you call back five minutes later and they ask where you are and you say "0.1 mile past the Love's Truck Stop"
