MrSeas
Do you have a schedule or itinerary of what is happening on what dates? We run a pretty "laid back" style.....the schedule is still in the works. We usually do small group activities during the day with a "happy hour" in the early evenings with a few "pot luck" dinners thrown in. I'll have the BMT group size things up for fog or running lites. How much are they? Check the website I mentioned to you above for pricing on the fog / driving lights. Chrome or regular on the lite housings? Your choice....... On Edit: After installing the HID Upgrade kit and correctly adjusting the beam of the headlights i noticed the fog lights and the driving lights really don't make as much of an impact of my forward facing light output. The HID's have such a nice light pattern that the other lights don't really add to my forward visibility. I drive on some very dark desert roads every night so I get the opportunity to test out different combinations of lighting. What I am going to try next is a HID "pencil" beam to augment my high beams to catch the Coyotes sleeping on the road. Headlight lens condition seems to make the most impact. With that all being said I have added The LED fog light upgrade and that has greatly improved my light output to the each side of the truck and they are "awesome" in foggy conditions. Each has to make their own decision on what combination(s) of light systems works best for them. Another mod I have incorporated into my lighting operation is something I borrowed from another member on this forum (RandyA). That mod adds relays and individual switches to the fog and driving light circuits so they can be switched on without using the main "headlight" switch. I love this added flexibility. Re Rick "can't wait to get on the road" After 8k miles so far and lighting the burners to dodge thunderboomers in Nebraska, I can't wait to get this trip over. RickS
Roger, We usually do about 15,000 Km a year and look forward to every one of them! Will be going through your area this summer starting in the Victoria area and going up to Port Hardy. It's too bad we have to be home in Sept for both of us to be back at work. rdickinson
Uh huh, got it last week. Internet has been poor on the road. I thought she would be keeping you up to date on sign ups. Thumb goes under the knife end of May, stitches out 10 days later if they do stitches at all. So things SHOULD be ok to go a few days before. No need for physio if the tip is fused. I'm hoping to get the cord and housings replaced before the trip plus some other minor outstanding issues with both truck and trailer. The whole trip once completed will be just under 9k miles and that takes a toll on equipment.

Watch BC Ferries don't try to stick you with Commercial rates which are about double. Also check ferry schedules to see if they are offering cheaper fares at selected times. This will save you about 160$ each way. Last year the plan ran from June to September. I can scan and e-mail my letter from BCF re my non commercial status. It cost nothing and has the contact info if you choose to do it. Geo, last year had no trouble with them, but why leave it to chance. Incidentally Geo is gone, he split up, sold everything including house and told me he was toing to the Philippines or Indonesia.
RickS
Roger, Hope everything goes well with the hand and it will be nice to meet up with you at the WCR. The deal is on this summer again "Size Up the Savings" it saved me $338.00 return on the reservation. I am registered as a motorhome from out of province so I don't think they can make me pay commercial. I haven't had any problems in the past but the letter would be something that could be put in the resource guide for others that may need to fight that fight. rdickinson
I just got into the parking lot at the ferry terminal. These rigs have no tariff designation. So as far as they are concerned if it looks like a semi, it is a semi. The time I had grief, it was registered in AB so beware. Where and to whom would I scan and send the doc. I use? rdickinson
Will scan and send later today. Lots on my plate at the moment. I will also contact BCF to see if there is a way to sort this out once and for all. Send me a pic of your rig, I will send it along to them. At the moment, I'm the only one around these parts, Geo is no longer around he sold his rig and everything else for that matter. I'll send my email address later today as well. Seems like I scooted thru all the tornados, hail and other nasty stuff by the skin of my teeth. It doesn't get much closer than that without being in it. MrSeas
WCR Attendees,The rally is just around the corner.......can't wait!Last year during our "first rally" we planned our schedule around more of a "social" event and left lots of time and space for everyone to sorta do their own thing. We did have our usual "happy hour(s)" in the late afternoon and also had some great "pot luck" dinners? This year it has been suggested that we "add" some more "seminar" and "group discussions" to our "to do list"! With that being said I would like to accept Kent's offer to share with us his "solar" presentation and Chad's invite to "see" and learn about his inverter installs in his truck and trailer. Here is the list of topics so far.......any others? Solar / lithium batteries. A/C to D/C Inverter installation in trailer / truck. Spare parts to carry. Special tools for the HDT. Airlines and fittings. Jackalopee / terminal blocks / wiring. Lights / wiring testers for truck / trailer. TPMS. Volvo lighting. Engines and transmissions Maintaining your HDT We have 15 rigs confirmed! Going to be a great weekend! Looking forward to seeing everyone! rdickinson
Hopefully, the Service, modifications, repairs to the rig and annual truck inspection will be completed before the WCR. The truck inspection is a must. There is a Habitat project up island in Campbell River asking if I can help so that will take up the first week or so in June. Lotsa moving parts. There are 2 things that come to mind that I'd like to learn about and it will take more than once to catch on. One is learning about the truck, being able to understand it better, the systems and how they work. Not necessarily how to fix but able to understand what the problem is. The other is Photobucket and how to post on the forum so I don't get reamed out by Stan. There are times when a pic would explain things better than word or waving of the arms. Woodruff key in the slideout motors being one. This also would take more than one go to pick up. Typically people retain 10% of what they are told the first time. I may be less than typical. Tina by then will have set up the new computer and switched everything over. It will be a quad core with Windows 10. I have scads of pics, some I don't even know where they disappeared to but they are there somewhere. Every once in a while they will appear then disappear like the bones of a ship in the desert. EZ Connector RV cable, headlight lenses, truck mirror and truck to trailer charging system will be done here before departure.

VegasFlyer
Well guys, We just found out that our Toy Hauler is not going to be repaired in time for the trip to the rally, so we will not be making it this year. If there is anyone who is attending who has had trouble getting a space reserved close to all the originally reserved spaces, drop me a private message and we can coordinate so that when we cancel our reservation, you can get it. I can't remember which space we have reserved, but it is right behind Scott.
