brunsje
Folks, We will be approaching the Grand Canyon from MOAB heading South on 89. Can I turn onto 64 at Cameron which is listed as a Restricted Road in the Truck Atlas? Or do I need to go down to I40 and get onto 64 near Williams and head north? We are a Motorhome with a height of 13'6". Thanks, JohnnyB
2gypsies
You can definitely take 64 west at Cameron to the park's east entrance. That area has had snow and very cold temps already so be aware of the conditions for the park. Have a good trip!
HamRad
As stated you should be able to traverse that road. We came up from the south and entered thru the east entrance. Be advised that the roads are narrow two lane roads -- typical national park type roads. We were pulling a 35 ft 5th wheel and had no troubles. It will be cold there at this time of year and may in fact cause roads to be closed. Check locally before proceeding. Enjoy. Dennis
brunsje
I forgot to mention we will be traveling this summer. My main concern was for any height restrictions since were pretty tall. JohnnyB
Bill B
Remember that "Commercial" vehicles are not allowed in National Parks. Saying that, we were a semi (commercial) vehicle that is now a motor home. I have had rangers chase and chastise me, UNTIL they found we were not commercial, then life was good. We have driven that road, we are 13'3 tall, 65+ foot long, stayed in the park campground and had a great time.
