Man, tons of lots for sale. Almost looks like everyone is selling out. Most have park models on them.

Not something I am interested in.

Formed in 1982, 1,485 lots. I would expect a fair number would be on the market at any one time. Owners aging out for one thing. Looks like it might be interesting if you want to be in the area regularly.

Good to see the tone of the responses turning.

1-time posters are far from a new occurrence, often hitting as many websites as possible in one sitting. This bulk form of posting will often result in missed info. I have sent e-mails to posters, asking them to return and add info. I have never felt the need to point out failings of the posters' articles, and feel it's bad form. If it doesn't interest me, I move on. If I feel I can help, I do.

The boards used to be a lot friendlier, and more caring.

'Nuff said.

I agree 100%, we are suppose to be helping people not knocking them down. If I see some thing and it don't interest me I move on. Many time I have posted something and had to go back and add or delete stuff. Who knows this could be this persons first post on any thing. He/she could be elderly and don't think of these things.

All,

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my first post. My wife and I have been active in the RV community for some time, and have participated in IRV2 for years. Recently I have been researching SKPs, and have been considering joining. The timing happened to coincide with our relocation, and decision to sell our lot. For this reason, I joined the forum, and posted info about our lot.

Biker56, you are correct, it is not intended for full-time residence. It is a recreational lot, and intended for use as a temporary residence. That’s one reason we found it ideal for our motorhome. We can stay there when the weather is nice, and when it gets cold, head south for the winter. It’s a good option for snowbirders, but if you’re looking for a primary residence, it’s probably not right for you.

WeBeFulltimers, you’re right, it is our first post. I guess everyone has one! :-)

Re: contact info, I thought that anyone could email me by clicking on my name.

Re: pictures, you’re right, I didn’t have them handy, so I dug through my photos, and will be posting them shortly. I hope it’s helpful.

Re: price, $22,000, I just forgot to include!

Joezilla, you’re right, about 5% of 1,485 deeded lots are for sale.

LindaH, Thanks! :-)

Dennis M, you hit the nail on the head! We did a lot of research before investing in our lot, and have really enjoyed it. It just doesn’t meet our needs anymore, so we’re offering it to someone who may enjoy it more.

Darryl&Rita, thank you for your kind response!

Ron and Laine, thank you as well! Re: elderly, I don’t have that excuse (yet), but it was my first post on SKPs, as well as my first post regarding the lot, so I appreciate your understanding!

All, I will try to post pictures soon. If there are any specific questions you would like to ask, please send me a message by clicking on my name. If you have suggestions on how to post more effectively for this forum, those are welcome too! Lastly, if you know anyone who you think would be interested in our lot, please point them our way!

Thanks, and have a wonderful day!

Since I'm not in the marketplace I don't often frequent this forum but I'll add a quick welcome to Escapees forums. Take a look around the other forums and join in to any that happen to interest you. I think that you will find this a pretty friendly place. As you say, everyone has to start somewhere! Welcome!

The pics are great although small. It looks like a nice place if you want to be close to Chicago. It's getting harder to find all those trees and water! Good luck selling it.

Thanks, 2gypsies! We love the trees and water! If you're into wildlife, or just want to get back to nature, it's a great location!

I wish I could provide the pictures in higher-res, it really brings out the natural beauty!
