Height height question

Hope you all sort this out. Confusing me

Shoot for a plate height of 47".

I'm high at 49". I can move my pinbox up 1 set of holes, but my deck is stepped in front of the hitch and it will put me within 5" clearance in a tight turn.

My hitch is a trailer saver and is mounted on top of the rails. Not the way I would have done it, but that's the way it was when we bought it.

Hi Glenn,

Measure from the bottom of your trailer's upper 5th wheel plate above the pin (the plate that rests on the tow vehicle's 5th wheel) to the ground when your trailer is level fore and aft. This is the height from the ground to set the top of your truck's hitch plate.

Actually that won't work now. Pad not level. Camper is down in front and sloping at 1" in 15 foot. That is where chassis visible

Set a level on the ground, note the bubble.

Move level to the floor of the trailer. Lower the trailer front till level on the floor displays the same bubble as the ground.

Measure to the ground. Mark down the number.

Raise trailer back to level.

Relay number to shop.

Phoenix, tell Henry to be careful, or this ET stuff might just turn into a job.

Glenn, you chose well. You'll be very happy with your ET.

Glenn, you won't find a better hitch on the market for a heavy trailer and an HDT. My ET is superb, and I would personally not have anything else.

Phil, I talk to that Old Goat all the time, although seven ETs is a bit of a tall order (forget having any in stock), he still manages to keep his spirits up. Particularly since he gave up his two least favorite activities.

and snow shoveling.

But he might need your guys support and salvation, he's beginning to view hitch building as some sort of "spiritual endeavor".
