Kirk W
Failing to overeat is UN-American! And most of the country is probably also football blind as well. But we live in a rebel household of political misfits we didn't watch one minute of football, even with two of our sons with us for the day! sandsys
Guess we're unAmerican. We didn't overeat yesterday nor did we watch football. But, we've never been ones to particularly follow the crowd anyway. Not many people who full-time in an RV are, I think. Although we know plenty of RVers who do indulge in those two particular activities. And we've been known to overeat when with them. harley-dave
We didn't over eat or watch football either. Had a very nice turkey dinner, some wine and went mountain biking in the desert. Can't get much better than that!! Dave
Barbaraok
The key to a successful Thanksgiving weekend is to eat moderately so you have lots of leftovers which make easy meals for the weekend and freeze the leftovers, stock for soup, later in the month! Now that may be the best answer of all! But since we didn't host but went to our son's house, no leftovers either......... But then we don't have any of the work from hosting either soooooo.................. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Barbaraok
You didn't get a 'doggy' bag when you left your son's place? Now that is sad. sandsys
We often go to Dave's sister's house for Thanksgiving. She doesn't give doggie bags either. It feels less like Thanksgiving to not have leftovers. But, I think we'd have to cook an entire second meal to feed us all plus offer leftovers. As is, we don't leave much behind. I must have been doing it wrong all these years. "Successful" to me is when everyone eats too much, drinks too much, watches football between naps, cook enough for everyone to take home a little something something + leftovers for 3 days (sustenance is required during post T-Day recovery), and the bones get boiled out for stock overnight. If you can tick off all those boxes in a 24 hours period... THAT's Success! That's why Thanksgiving Day is always on a Thursday ya know. It gives you 3 full days of recuperation before the work week starts.
