brunsje
Folks, Would you please provide your ideas on Austin, TX places to stay. We have a 45' Motorhome and enjoy more 'roomy' parks. I have found La Hacienda and Austin Oak Forest. Thanks, JohnnyB

TreyandSusan
Lone Star (South Austin) has No Vacancy. Crestview RV (south Austin) has a waiting list for non-overnighters. Austin area parks are pretty full with the displaced folks from the recent flooding. If you are looking for a relatively short stay and convenient to the city McKinney Falls state park might work. Some sites would work. No sewer connections but does have water/electric with a dump station. Max 14 day stay. The further away from the city you get the more likely you may find a spot. Dennis M
When we went to the first F1 race in Austin we stayed at Lake Falling Star. A very nice park with really friendly hosts. Would most definitely stay there again. Great pizza in a little place right down the road (Mr Toad's?) and do not miss the Barbecue places in Lockhart - they are all good. My choices in order would be Blacks; Smitty's; and Kreuk Market

I have been calling around today and it is had to find a CG that is open and not full. Some are still closed due to the flooding and some are just full with local residents. oldcodger
Bastrop area and several parks on Hwy 71 east of the airport has several nice parks and campgrounds. We stay at HWY 71 RV park when in the Austin area (lived in Austin 24 years) visiting DD and our Doctors. Oak Forest is good, we've stayed there several times but it has gotten high dollar IMO since a corporation has bought it. Dave
