US-24 from I-57 in Illinois to Toledo area.

I am looking at US Hwy 24, traveling from its intersection at I-57 in Illinois, thru Fort Wayne, IN, to the Toledo area. I am looking at it as an alternative to traveling the I-80 Toll Road to the same Toledo area.

Has anyone ever driven this stretch of Highway? Is it two lane? Four lane? Congested? Speed limit?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks, folks, for the response. This give me an idea what to expect... 55 mph... 2-lane and 4-lane. Sounds like it will be a peaceful drive, too. Not sure what we will do when the time comes (December), but US-24 is looking better than I thought.

Much appreciated!

Jim

4 lane from about Logansport IN to Toledo, a lot of changes going on from Logansport west, with a new 4 Lane from Logansport to Lafayette. The last time we drove from Monticello IN through Kentland to the IL state line it was 2 lane, but little traffic.

The new 4 Lane from Logansport to Lafayette is US25.

But US24 from West side of Logansport going East is 4 lane as you said.

From I57 on US24 two lane to Logansport it is 87 miles..

December they may be snow/black ice areas to watch out for.
