skp097054
I just replaced the d seal on my RV and am left with the black sticky residue to get off. Any ideas for solvent before I start scrubbing my fingers to the bone with hot soapy water? Thanks Bob
Pat & Pete
WD40 . It's my 'go to' cleaner for stuff of that nature . You can follow removal with a soap and water wash if you have reservations .
Wrknrvr
If you go to a automotive paint store they will a cleaner for removing oil, grease and finger prints. It normal use is to wipe down the auto body that is ready for paint. It may cost 20 to 30 bucks a quart but it will remove the residue fairly easy. I carry it in my service vehicle and use it a lot on RV work. Safe. Travels, Vern

D&J
Try mineral spirits and them soap and water. Denny
KodiakJack
Replace several feet of D-seal a couple months ago and both acetone and mineral spirits worked well (acetone the better of the two) to remove the black residue. But first in my case I carefully removed the sticky black rubber left on the slide trim/flanges with a razor-blade. Cleaned up well though.
