SWharton
Has anyone had problems with their Schwentek slides? On another forum all you hear about is the problems. Are they really that bad?
Mark and Dale Bruss
As with any new technology, there are start-up snags. The Schwentek implementation started a couple of years ago. It appears that the implementers has the bug out. Bobi and Dick McKee
We have them on 3 of our slides. The only problem we have had at 1 year old the wiring into one motor broke. Hitch Hiker replaced it under warranty. Other than that they have worked fine.
SWharton
This makes me feel better. We have been on the road for a month and not problems but reading the other forum it sounded like a disaster waiting to happen. Sometimes you find a forum that all the problem children congregate to and on thinks that the problem is major...........We haven't had any problems either, knock wood. luvlabs
If installed correctly and sized correctly for the job, they work fine. However, some manufacturers tried to cut corners by using the system to move slides that were too large and heavy and they have problems. Some manufacturers can't seem to follow the installation procedures correctly and they have problems. When you read the forums, you will see that the problems are concentrated at one or two manufacturers. Stay away from those guys. Bobi and Dick McKee
I do agree with Roger. We had a unit parked next to us this summer where the unit jumped the tracks and then pulled the tracks off the side of the slide. The tec working on it said it was one of the worse installations he had seen.
filthy-beast
big slides with two tracks instead of three tracks per side seem to be the most common installs with problems. 2020 Platinum F350 6.7L CC DRW, 2021 Riverstone Legacy 37mre 5th wheel
Mark and Dale Bruss
Thor went to a system called 3Trax which is the Schwentek system using three tracks, one on the bottom and two at the top of the slide. I believe they started with two tracks a couple of years ago. evolvingpowercat
I have a 2015 Winnebago Vista 27N and it uses the Schwentek 2 track slides. So far so good. They seem to have been revising their system repeatedly over the past few years trying to get the source of problems eliminated. For those with pre 2015 on older revisions they seem to have kits that can be retrofitted, so if you have any problems you might ask your repairer about that. They have a web site with LOTS of videos and documentation, here is the link: http://lci1.com/support-center Randy Smischny Manhattan, Kansas USA 2015 Winnebago Vista 27N 2016 Honda HR-V
SWharton
We bought our MH off the lot, it is a 2015 and we haven't had any problems. Also figure, a lot model had a lot of in/out of the slides. Hopefully we are fine.
