I have the Xantrex 1800HF Inverter/Charger installed. I recently moved to a covered storage facility that has 110 plugs so I can stay connected to 20 amp shore power. The charger is 3 stage with bulk/absorption/float. My batteries are sealed with no caps. My question: will I harm anything by leaving my inverter/charger plugged in continuously? Jack Mayer Posted September 24, 2015 Report Share Posted September 24, 2015 The default float for that charger is 13.5 volts, which should be OK. That is set for Flooded cells. If you want to drop it one/tenth more volt to 13.4 volts you can set it for AGM. But then you will not get as good a bulk charge. It should be OK as is. Yarome Posted September 24, 2015 Report Share Posted September 24, 2015 If you have any qualms, you could always just keep it on charge every couple to three months while in storage and let it self discharge in the interim if you're at all concerned about water levels.
