fire1610
Hello everyone!! Glad to be here. I am thinking of buying a truck with a 9'6" flatbed on it. I was wondering if anyone is using a flatbed to pull a 5th wheel? Is clearance going to be an issue with the 9'6" bed during the swing? I did measure from the ball to the end of the bed and it's 5 foot. Add 3" if you count the bumper hitch.
fire1610
I did measure on my goose horse trailer and it seems like it would work. I'm just curious about a 5th wheel.
GlennWest
My bed I think, may have to pull tape, is 9'4". It is dovetailed and notched corners, 45 degrees. I also have a trough in the middle. I am using an EZ Loader Air Hitch. It is 12.5" tall. My Teton rides level. I have good clearance. On a Standard flat bed with no trough I could not have leveled camper. If your bed is standard flat with a square opening or door in middle with ball you will have to modify it for a hitch. Beds are higher than stock beds is problem. Most likely 7" taller. could be more. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
