The roof is fiberglass and is maintenance free -- except that I power wash it twice a year and inspect caulking. To my knowledge it has never leaked. New Horizons floors are exceptionally well built. There are no "soft" spots and it does not flex when you walk on it. The covering on this one is a oak parquet tile in very good condition -- except for one time with surface damage located in a corner that is not readily visible. Care for the floor is easy with a dry swiffer and occasional use of a wet Swiffer pad. I would anticipate no maintenance in the next year other than routine cleaning of slide rails and lubing the zert fittings.

Yes, we weighed at least once a year. As full-timers we knew we had a lot of stuff. We ran close to weight limit but were careful to stay under GVWR. When we added the Big Foot system we removed a sofa sleeper and bought two gliders just to offset the additional weight of the Big Foot system. We weighed several times at Escapees in Livingston. Unfortunately when we moved our things out of the trailer I did not keep those records. The most recent Cat Scale (truck stop) shows trailer axle at 12430 pounds. If the total trailer weight is 15,000 - 15,200 that puts about 2,500 to 3,000 on the pin.

You might tow it home empty with the 2500, but I would not tow loaded with anything less than a 3500. (We always used a dually and ran close to the GCWR of the truck.) Unfortunately the New Horizons from that era were heavy, but very well built. Exterior walls have steel framing. Hope this helps.
