JustPassingThrough
Hey all, Anyone have a gently used inverter laying around? My wife and I are currently full-timing in our 05 Teton, but the previous previous owner decided to take the inverter and the generator! We're at the point where we need an inverter, especially before winter comes. Please respond here with specs and price. Also, we're looking for something in the 1.5 to 2.5kw range. Thanks! Yarome
It might be helpful to know what you intend on powering and what your battery bank situation is. Also the type... PSW, MSW... you are looking for.
JustPassingThrough
It's mostly for backup power, as we are currently parked for the winter. It would be needed to power laptop chargers, phone chargers, misc household lighting, possibly TV and blu-ray player. I guess we may possibly want to use the washer and dryer? PSW would be preferred, for the electronics? My understanding about inverters is fairly elementary. I understand that they transform DC power to AC power, and there are different types of sine waves produced. We mostly need it for the battery charging properties, I've heard there are multi-stage charging cycles on some inverters which are best for my battery bank? Our battery bank situation is 10 golf cart batteries wired in series to produce the 12V for the system.

Wow..................Now that's what I call a "Bank" of batteries. I hate to be you on "Replacement Day".

G&K
We have single-point watering on our ten GC-2s. Makes a big difference. Geo
JustPassingThrough
Good news! I just checked, and we actually only have 8 batteries.
JustPassingThrough
Ideally we would like the originally installed inverter, which was a Xantrex ProSine 2.5. We would settle for a 2.0 as well.
Yarome
I don't know if you are still looking, but here's a Samlex PST-2000-12. Only 1 left in stock, but a pretty decent price for a new unit. The PST's are a proven reliable workhorse. Pure Sine Wave and around 30-60 bones cheaper than anywhere else I've seen. JustPassingThrough
Thanks for the link Yarome. We are definitely still looking. We have our eyes on Magnums right now. The one reason that Samlex wouldn't work for us is it lacks the charging option. We'll specifically need an inverter/charger. I like that price though! Try this one if you're looking for a deal. Factory refurbished Mag MS2812 for $1580 Free shipping and around $40 cheaper than a new MS2012. Basically a 2800W PSW w/125amp charger vs. a 2000w PSW w/100amp charger.
