Anchorage RV Parks

Palmer is an easy drive into Anchorage. We've also stayed at Eagle River in the public campground - beautiful.

Personally, I wouldn't spend two weeks for Anchorage. 3-4 days tops to stock up on food, and a little touring of the city, etc. There are nicer places to go.

American Legion in Anchorage

Moose in Anchorage

Elks in Wasilla

VFW in just outside Wasilla

We stayed at Elks, VFW and American Legion

Do you have to be a member to stay at all of the Above? The reason I ask is we were camping with a friend of ours and he took us to either the Elks or Moose for dinner one night and they would not let us in even though he was a member.....

Yes Elks and Moose you have to be a member or be a guess on the member attending.

VFW / American Legion - Ex, retired or in the military

As for the member being turned away at the door, that has never happen to anyone I know.

Nice and quiet we stayed three nights there in late July.

Not all sites had electric, and the ones that did only a few were 50amps. No one was there when we got in, so did a little walk around to find a 50amp site. But it was fine for the 5 days we were there back in 2012. It was a short drive to the Walmart in Wasilla, and a pretty good Mexican restaurant.
