heavyduty
Does anyone know aprx how long a refrigerator will run with engine not started or plugged in to shore power. I realize it would depend on outside temp and condition of battery's but if just stopped for night would battery,s be dead next morning.
JC and Angie
Volvo's computer will shut everything off before your Battery will go dead. It's way smarter than we are.
rdickinson
Is it smart enough to allow enough amps to start the truck? I've wondered the same question myself. I installed a battery kill switch anyway just below the drivers door above the batteries. Thanks R
JC and Angie
Well, let's just say I have not had a dead battery and have left it and lights on over a weekend. More than once. I wouldn't try it with questionable battery's.
VegasFlyer
It sounds more like the OP is curious as to how long his Twinkies will stay cold, not about protection circuits, etc.... Just Sayin......
JC and Angie
Well I saw "will the battery's be dead " and silly me thought he was asking about batteries.

Big5er
I've never timed mine, but like JC said, Volvo will shut the whole sleeper off before the battery gets too low to start the truck.
Tom&
I did a 24hr test with batteries at full charge, 12v inverter started to blink, but power did not shut down, with 11.7v engine started with no problem. 24hr is good for me.
MsChrissi
Our 2000 770 has the inverter just tapped into the batteries so the Volvo has no idea what is going on back there.
Mark and Dale Bruss
If you have the battery minder option, then then second battery bus in the cab (the one with the accessories) should disconnect on battery low voltage.
whatsnext
We have left our refrigerator on for several days in the truck and no problems with the batteries. They are brand new batt's so please take that into consideration. We have also used our microwave via the inverter to cook dinner on several occasions and the next morning had no problems. Great system. Great truck. The refrigerator even kept our ice cream bars nice and frozen for several days! BONUS!!! David

G&K
I get about 3 days fridge only, less if I use the microwave. That is before the protection circuit cuts in. I even lose interior lights with the protection, so if you open a door and have no lights it just means the truck is looking out for me.
