Kirk W
For anyone now on Medicare or who soon will be going on there is an interesting article now out about the way that some types of surgical services will be paid for. Some of it actually seems like it might be a good change. Big Changes Coming For Hip & Knee Surgery Payments
Velos
Thanks for posting. As we get older we meet more and more people that have artificial knees. Many success stories but the horror stories sadly make a greater impression. I personally know of one individual that went in for knee replacement and a year later is still on meds to keep for the infection from the surgery at bay. During the process he had to have a couple amputations to fight the infection, starting with his foot and now is up to his hip. A nurse I know put off having her surgery till she could find an outpatient clinic vs a hospital for her surgery. In her nursing experience the rate of infections after surgery is growing rapidly.
