Canadian Wildfires

Planning a trip (the 1st of Aug.) up thru The Dakotas, into Canada, and across Canada Hwy. 1, to Calgary and Banff NP.

My question is. How are the Canadian wildfires effecting the air quality in this area? We had smoke in southeast Missouri last week that they say was because of those fires!! Should we change our plans or continue on? Thanks for any suggestions.

Day to day. Highway 1 crosses bald-ass prairie, for the most part, with scrub brush only down in the valleys. The further North you come, the greater the chances of running into smoke. Most of the fires are currently in the northern 1/3 Of the province, but any lightning will change that. We're super dry right now, so lots of fire bans in place. Again, these are weather dependant, and subject to change. Come on up.
