breister
I am looking at a used RV for sale and the front end looks kind of bad because of the 3M film I believe. It is kind of cracking and peeling a little and looks discolored. I assume these films can be removed and hopefully the clear coat under it is still in nice condition? Anybody have any experience removing these things and any problems with paint underneath usually? Thanks alot
rheavn
Brian, I have taken on this project. It is a tedious job, but very rewarding. I was able to remove the cracked 3M mask without any paint damage. I used plastic chisels and GooGone. Good Luck........................Steve
GdognTimber
We are currently undertaking this job and its slow, but quite simple. 3M has an eraser wheel that you attach to a corded drill (cordless will add months to the project). Safety glasses, two boxes of plastic gloves and one gallon of acetone. We have a fiberglass side and there is no damage to the fiberglass/paint. The darker the graphic, the more gumming up on the eraser wheel, the lighter the graphics, the more you can do in a single setting.
