CampGround Hosting position NW Washington

Due to the unexpected illness on an existing host, We have a immediate position available here at Jim Creek.

I am the current host here and am helping the manager get the word out. We are currently working 2 on / 2 off Mon thru Thurs and then every other weekend (Fri thru Sun). The campground also has very high reviews on the military campgrounds web site.

About every 5th weekend a family fun day is planned on a sat afternoon where all of the campground hosts (2 sites) are expected to help. After we get the sites cleaned for the day and have done morning rounds we are free until late afternoon (4:30 pm during week, and 1930 on Fri and Sat). At that time we do evening rounds and check in any late arrivals. There is a 24 hour lounge with wi-fi and dish tv available about 5 min walk from the host sites. The wi-fi is occasionally available at the host sites.

Please contact the manager below to apply or for specific information. This an an active military base although mostly MWR, so you must be able to easily get on/off an military base - reason for military id card. Retired is fine.

Please feel free to contact me at "lee.baldwin.rv@gmail.com" for general questions although I cannot take applications.

The local town is about 20 min away with a wallmart about 30 min and a Navy bx/commisary about 45 min away.

INFO below is from Campground manager.

The problem with such sites for those not retired military is that you go into an uneven playing field and if some retiree comes along as you apply, you will loose out no matter how experienced you happen to be. The only offer that we have ever had from a military park was one that we were accepted for a 90 day tour about 3 months out but were then notified at roughly 30 days out that a retiree had been taken on for all but 30 days of our tour. As a result we declined to go and have not applied with any military parks since. If you are not military retired, make darn sure that they won't dump you if one comes along.

Something else to think about. While Jim Creek is a neat area to visit, it can be down right HOT there in the summer. Sitting up in the canyon like it does, many days there is little to NO breeze. Again, a nice area but it is also a ways to any kind of shopping, etc.
