Looking for the Best Laptop New or Refurbished for under $300. My sisters wants one to give to an assistant she is hiring to do some data entry work at night from home. Would like Win 7 Pro 64 bit. 15.1 screen would be nice but 14 would work Big HD not a big deal as she will log into office network to do the input. I did not see anything this morning from New Egg Direct. Have not got flash msg yet for today.

My wife found a nice new 14" Dell on Dell's website yesterday for $260 that her sister ordered. They have one for $229.99 now using a Celeron processor, just go to dell and check for laptop deals for home. These are all Windows 8.1 machines, but you can add Classic Shell and they will behave much like Windows 7, if that is important.

I see some almost daily from NewEgg but I'm subscribed to their sale e-mails. I've gotten some decent Dells but the Lenovo I just got is a far better machine and was about $200.

Thanks guys

I got a HP Elite Book 8460P off of Newegg Flash today for $249. I bought 8 Gigs of New RAM and came in at $304. It came with a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64 bit with the repair disks.

If anyone is still looking for great refurb price, specs, AND warranty, Woot today has the best deals I've seen yet on their factory refurbished laptops, All In Ones, and desktops, most Dells today carry Dell's one year full warranty.

Woot sells until sold out which happens fast. They top of page items are available for one day only. If you are a mull it over type, and not ready to buy, Woot is not for you.

I've bought two refurbished Dells with the full 1 year warranties and extended each. Woot has one shipping charge of five dollars once each day, then all of whatever you order until midnight of that day is covered by that first five dollar shipping charge too. So you could conceivably order a computer and five big things the same day, say lawnmowers, or rain barrels, and since you already paid one five dollar shipping charge their shipping is free of charge. Shipping is always five dollars. No returns unless item is defective on receipt.

There are many more there than these. I get their daily email. The 1 year warranty is at the bottom of the description on each page. The specs are clear, just click that tab.

$329.99

This next one is available to handle at Best Buy for about $900. It is an All In One touch portable desktop meaning it has a battery that lasts about three hours. It is like an 18" very heavy tablet. It has its own flip out stands and all the latest ports. This is my idea of the perfect desktop/portable around the house. I'd be buying it if I hadn't already bought my 27" Dell All In One refurbished from Woot two years ago.

$249.99

Here is that Woot page showing all. Verify the warranty under each description as I only checked the above three.

$319.99

No USB 3 , just USB2 but compact enough for an RV if one always uses their laptop on a table not lap. 1 year Dell warranty.

This $179.99 laptop deal from Staples might do someone some good - http://www.staples.com/ASUS-X205TA-HATM0103-Notebook-PC/product_1530327?cmArea=home_box1. (I am not sending a PM either).

Go to Newegg.com and look at their laptops both new and refurbished and pick one in your price point. I bought a refurbished HP Elite Book 8460P, Core i5 by Intel with a fresh install of Win 7 Pro last week for $249.00 and dropped in 8 gig's of Ram for $54 and was out the door for $305. It only has a 14 inch screen but for the type of work my sisters assistant will be doing it should work great. It's fast and is built really well. Bill and RV both have some very good suggestions up a couple posting from mine that would be worth taking a look at. If you have not used Win 8/8.1 I would stick with a laptop that came with Windows 7 Pro. Hope this helps.

This is a group forum, so why would I PM someone I don't know a "deal"? Makes no sense. Anyone can click a link in the forum as easily as in a PM. We are not dealing drugs here, so I see no use for a PM.
