bilmorvn
We have some friends, Paula and Isaac, who have an old dog rescue, retirement home and hospice. They try to save as many older dogs as they can afford. The best way to know what they do is to go to their Facebook page, Old Souls K9 Rescue and Retirement Home. They live in Yuma AZ. We think that the SKPs could help them in a couple of ways beside giving them a donation---but you could do that too. First, they get people from all over wanting to give them a dog, but there is the matter of time and cost getting the animal to Yuma. Know that Yuma is not a hot spot for summer travelers, but folks are going by it all year long and especially during Snowbird season. Sharing a lift for a dog to Yuma would be great. Know that a lot of pilots all over the US ferry dogs to save them from the gas chamber. Rvers can do the same. You can see what is needed and coordinate on their FB page. Second, after a dog comes to Paula and Isaac---many near death--they respond to the love, care and medical help they receive and have longer lives ahead of them. If you want a dog, they often have one available to adopt. We put this information here rather in the pet forum because we hope more people will read it and the foundation of a doggie transport system can start. Thanks! Helipilot
Nice idea Bill. When we owned our aviation business we donated a lot of aircraft time to Angel Flight. Helped a lot of people.
