MsChrissi
2000 VNL-770 ...what does it use for clutch reservoir fluid? (assuming that is the little reservoir outboard of the steering column)
HERO Maker
I was pretty sure that it was Dot 3 fluid that was put into mine. I will check tomorrow. Is it taking it's own sweet time in engaging when you fully depress the clutch? kyote
Volvo calls for Dot 4 brake fluid. I did some research a couple years ago, and it seems there may have been a rubber incompatibility issue using anything else. Mine was pretty black also, so I just replaced the slave, master and hose because I couldn't clean the black gunk out of the system. Nasty dirty job! VegasFlyer
The last thing that anyone wants, is a "rubber incompatibility issue"! Just sayin...... Rick & Alana
Mine was leaking also. Had read Marks comments on having the assembly fail and a tow bill along with repairs. When I had to start adding fluid more often I just went ahead and replaced the master cylinder, hose and slave cylinder on my schedule. Not its Thanks Mark for the write up and warning. SIBERNUT
When you bleed it, you either need a pressure bleeder or you need to "trick it" since the bleed screw is at the bottom of the cylinder 2000 Volvo 635 A/S, N-14 Cummins"The Phoenix"'03 KA 38KSWB http://s918.photobucket.com/user/sibernut/library/?sort=6&page=1Furkids- Sibe's CH.
