Any good source for colored (red, green, yellow, blue) 1/4", 3/8" 1/2" tubing I can buy by the foot rather than 25' lengths? Or just black and if just black is there any way to label the line as to its use that will not fade? porky69 Posted February 24, 2015 Report Share Posted February 24, 2015 The hoses are color coded so that the assembly line workers can quickly mate two assemblies together. I wouldn't worry to much about matching it for repairs being as if it breaks you will be able to find both ends. But by the same token, factory coloring can make troubleshooting easier. Like Jack said 25ft doesn't last as long as you think. Or the colored tape is a good cost effective solution (could also be used in the same way for wiring repairs). phoenix2013 Posted February 26, 2015 Report Share Posted February 26, 2015 It's not good to store a lot of the nylon tubing "just to have it", buy what you need to get the "project done". The stuff is naturally hygroscopic and absorb water just sitting around. That wouldn't be bad except it gets hard and stiff in the process (like the stuff in your truck).
