FOLLOWING ARE BOB PINNER'S INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOMERS WANTING TO CARAVAN INTO THE NEW "BOOMERANG /ESCAPADE" DRY-CAMPING AREA. Note the group entry date will be March 6 and if you have not already signed up for EARLY PARKING, see the instructions written below. I am also posting a PDF file showing the RALLY POINT. Thanks, Bob and Molly Pinner!
========================================================

"There is a Walmart, on the corner S. Houghton Rd. and E. Old Vail Rd. approximately 2.5 miles north of Interstate 10, 3.5 miles from the fairgrounds that will work as a staging point for Boomers. The large dirt lot adjacent to the Walmart parking lot will hold up to 40 rigs, by our estimation, with an easy entry and exit. One word of caution, the railroad overpass bridge between Interstate 10, exit 275, and the Walmart has a 36,000 lb. weight limit. While this would present a problem with very few of your rigs, I thought it best to bring it to your attention so you could forward to your members. Alternately, rigs over this weight can approach the Walmart from Rita Road, exit 273, and approach the fairgrounds from Rita Road Attached is a map with notes of the Walmart staging area.

From the Walmart, there are two ways to get to the fairgrounds. The shortest would be:
1. Exit the Walmart lot turning right on S. Houghton Rd, crossing over Interstate 10 then turn right on Brekke Rd. Escapade entrance will be on the left in ½ of a mile.
2. For overweight vehicles, exit Walmart lot turning left on E. Old Val Rd. then turn left on Rita Rd crossing Interstate 10. Turn left on Rocket Strav then left again on Brekke Rd. Escapade entrance on the right in ½ of a mile.

We agree that Friday, March 6, your arrival day, is the best day and a 11:00 am and 12 noon time frame would work best. Please request anyone planning to stage with your group to call Livingston and arrange for arrival on Friday, March 6, and request a new E-ticket and parking designator. Rigs arriving with a designator showing a day other than Friday must be diverted to Customer Service to sign up for early arrival, which will delay your group parking.

We anticipate that later arrivals can be directed to your designated boondocking parking area and self-park with help from your group. The only exception would be a backup in the arrival lanes creating a hazard that would have to be quickly cleared. In that event, arrivals would be parked in the quickest possible way as determined by the parking chairs. Once parked, you remain in that site for the duration of the event.

Please let us know if you have any questions,

The map file with directions from the Walmart staging area is too large to upload at this time. It is posted on the Boomer Yahoo and Facebook pages in the FILES SECTION. If you want a copy emailed to you, please request one by dropping me a note at cooljudy {at} gmail {dot} com.
