MeanderMan Posted February 13, 2015 Report Share Posted February 13, 2015 For anyone who'd like to spend another month in Southern Arizona before heading north, The Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve needs a volunteer or volunteer couple for the month of April, or longer if possible. The preserve has been discussed here before, but briefly the volunteers work 3 days a week opening the gate at 0630 and closing at 4:00, and check in visitors, collect fees, and work on projects as needed. It's a magical place with abundant wildlife and great birding, and the site has full hookups and great free Wi-Fi. We will be volunteering fairly close by next winter at Fairbank ghost town just northeast of Sierra Vista (BLM). We are looking forward to a "day trip" to check out the preserve.
