April in Patagonia, AZ

For anyone who'd like to spend another month in Southern Arizona before heading north, The Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve needs a volunteer or volunteer couple for the month of April, or longer if possible. The preserve has been discussed here before, but briefly the volunteers work 3 days a week opening the gate at 0630 and closing at 4:00, and check in visitors, collect fees, and work on projects as needed. It's a magical place with abundant wildlife and great birding, and the site has full hookups and great free Wi-Fi. You can learn more about the preserve on our blog at http://dnpc.blogspot.com

If interested, contact the manager, Luke Reese at Lreese@tnc.org or (520) 394-2400

I second Dan's endorsement. We spent a spring there several years ago and loved it. Looking at doing it again if we go back out west next year!

Just looked at your pictures on your blog . . . Looks like a wonderful place! We will be volunteering fairly close by next winter at Fairbank ghost town just northeast of Sierra Vista (BLM). We are looking forward to a "day trip" to check out the preserve.

Just check out the "closed" days in advance.

Keith and Brenda, still Monday and Tuesday for closed days, and open Wed - Sun?
