AFchap
$30 is quite high for military locations, but not uncommon on the West coast. Nelliss AFB in Las Vegas is quite nice, as is Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio. Check militarycampgrounds.us for current rates & info on military locations. Barsignrt
I agree $30 is quite high for military rv park. We have stayed on 43 different military and really cannot say which is our favorite. Of course some are better than others but it really depends on where you are and why you are there. Seal Beach is great if you are taking grandkids to Disney, Camp Pendleton is great if you want to Camp "ON" the beach, and let's not forget Sigbee Navel Air Station in Key West if you want great weather, friendly people and dry camping in the winter. Many military RV parks have some of the best locations in the country so we try and use them as much as we can. If you would like to visit us on our travel blog please do. nana25k
We have used a lot of them. Nellis is nice and upgrades are on the way for the old sites. Being honest we only use them if they are close to our travel path, never going out of our way to get to one unless it's Sigsbe in KW. We often get just as nice parks using Passport at cheaper rates Ron & LindaClass of 20072000 Monaco Diplomat 2005 Honda Element"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" Theodore Roosevelt"We can't control the wind, but we can adjust our sail""When man gave up his freedom to roam the earth, he gave up his soul for a conditioned ego that is bound by time and the fear of losing its attachments." The Few
Try Camp Pendleton California and surrounding areas on or outside the base.. Lake O'Neil , and Del mar right on the beach of the base are both on base. When I say " right on the beach", I really mean, RIGHT ON THE BEACH!! Bikini's, surfing, and GREAT parking just a few feet away!! Word of caution to the men and ladies.. If your spouse is within an arms length from you, better wear DARK sunglasses, because there are things on that beach that is GOING to catch your attention!! Don't let them catch you snooping at something that will have you sleeping on the couch that night...LOL The Few
