Becoming a real Texan article

I wanted to refer someone on another forum to the article that is here somewhere on How to Become a Real Texan and could not find it after doing a number of searches. I finally had to pull the URL from a post Kirk made that referenced it.

Is it really that hard to find or was it me?

They did a site redesign and hid it to where I can't even find it, I've been Googling to get to it.

Google this: site:escapees.com real texan

I saved the URL in my RV FAQ folder, so I don't have to look for it next time. :)

I first thought that it was curious, but if you look through that section, it has to do with using the Escapee address for your address of domicile. Since the mail service is part of the business, that really might explain the choice of location, along with the fact that many of the user benefits are only available to members but that section is open to everyone.

First rule of web site design is have a site index page link on the home page that lists every page on your site by title with a link to it. Aside from making it easier on humans it really helps your search engine ranking and results.

Edited to add in the word (now bold) I left out, makes a lot more sense that way.

Stan, they could also put a link button in the header next to the join button.

I really don't like the new Escapees website...it's too difficult to find what you need and some of the items in the list at the bottom of the main page don't have any links to them.

For example, under "Park Ratings," there is evidently an Escapees' park rating system, but there is no link to it or any information about where it can be found. Same thing with the "Chapters & BOFs" and "Day's End Directory."

I don't like the way the site is set up either. I've recommend it to many new RVers and I know that they would probably be bewildered in trying to find anything. If it's so hard for seasoned RVers to navigate then you know it must be hard for newbees.

I do believe I saw something about the Escapees computer folks working on a new site design but I'm not finding it now.
