New and never been used Nova Kool 9000 (9.1 cu. ft. interior volume) refrigerator/freezer. This refrigerator operates on either AC or DC power. I purchased this refrigerator in August 2018 for an RV/Van conversion that I have been working on for the past several months. I purchased it from SCME (Southern California Marine Enterprises) for $1,758.75 + $145.49 Tax. When the refrigerator arrived in late August 2018 there was visible damage to the top left mounting flange. Other than that everything else appeared to be fine and the refrigerator operated as expected. Nova Kool sent me a new flange. However, when swapping the hinges of the refrigerator door from a left side opening door to a right side opening door, the door would not close properly. The door closes properly and seals as a left side opening door, but needs to be manually adjusted to get it to close and seal as a right side opening door. After several exchanges with Nova Kool where I expressed my concerns, Nova Kool decided to send me a new refrigerator instead of just replacing the one refrigerator door. Even though the top refrigerator door is askew, both refrigerator and freezer doors close properly and lock into place in the left side door opening configuration, and the refrigerator is brand new! $899 Local Pickup Only in San Rafael, CA Questions? or would you like to see more photos? Don’t hesitate to contact me. Mike The Nova Kool RFU9000 RV Refrigerator is a quiet, highly-efficient AC/DC refrigerator/freezer using the sealed Danfoss compressor. Sealed compressors are ideal for use in refrigerators, since there is no way for lubricant or refrigerant to leak out of the compressor - the motor is designed to run in (and be cooled by) the refrigerant being compressed. Danfoss (Secop) BD-series sealed compressors use a brushless, variable-speed electric motor mounted on springs to prevent any vibrations being transmitted, and with a muffler to minimize suction noise. The compressor pumps the CFC-free R134A refrigerant through the refrigerant circuit at 2000-3500 rpm, depending on cooling load. It’s a compact, rugged and maintenance-free design that uses very little power and is almost silent, which is why 12-volt refrigerators using this compressor are so quiet and efficient. Hi Our Norcold N811 isn't cooling even though there are no error codes. The boiling chamber is warm, the external top cooling fins are hot, I've tried disconnecting the thermistor to force emergency mode. Same result in AC and LP Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi everyone, I am new to the community. I’m going to be moving into my small RV in the next few months. The refrigerator is not working and it will cost to much to be replaced. I am trying to keep the spending down as much as possible. What are your thoughts on putting in a small garage/patio type unit like cubic 3 ft. A/C freezer refrigerator in its place? They vary in electric usage from $26 to $13 a year and from 197 kWh so 138 k a year. And I will be Boondocking probably 90% of the time for 6 months of the year and on my property with electricity the other six months. I have only one large marine battery, but I do have a generator. Another concern is will it hold up to the shaking and jarring that the RV will have driving on unpaved roads Boondocking?
