  1. I am thinking in regard to taxes and higher costs on truckers that are ulitmately passed on to us through higher cost. Even the extra wear and tear on the roadways and other infrastructure. True enough even our rv's play a part in the wear, etc but I figure it is insignificant beside trucks. Hope I am being clear since of course clearer is better. HMMM I wonder how much railroads and maybe even ships pay in taxes on diesel or other fuels.
  2. Cars are lighter which helps with less wear and tear but there are more heavy trucks by necessity and even though we don't pay directly for their fees every individual is affected even those that don't drive.
  3. IMO as far a vehicles something is going to happen tax-wise to make up for loss of gas or diesel taxes that are used to build and maintain roadways. And it i only fair. I would say it needs to be sooner than later.
  4. What about in cabin heat? Has to be a big factor.
  5. It is not fun but as long as I can get at least the minimum I need and can pay for it, I think I am still pretty good. We sure are not the first folks that ever had to make adjustments due to circumstance. I still gripe some just like everyone else.
  6. Not always as smooth as advertised but always worked for me. Coachnet. 2 tows, 1 lock out and one tire change on a 30ft. Travel trailer. Over about 15 years.
  7. if you just show up you better have a back-up plan. One place I used to go annually changed hands last year and they would not accept any older than 2016. The park manager advocated for me but the new owner would not bend. I have not check but I think they have moved to full time - non moving occupants rather than travelers. I looked on google earth and all sites seem full but there is a notation that the lowest monthly rate is $500.00. There is another newish park in the general area that showed a monthly rate of $600.00 when I checked.
  8. I remember at least one or two that closed about the time you mention. One was in Memphis Tn. Slightly noteworthy is that Costco often builds close to Sam's club locations.
  9. Interesting. I googled the number of Sam's clubs in the US and it came up with 600. Texas has the most locations with 82.
  10. tried that and no go. I recently had the malwarebyte update and it ask for permission and I authorized and it seemed ok. That was a few days ago. I will look into the permissions the best I can. I think I may have made a pemission change on a chromebook a short time ago but this one is not the same and is not google but microsoft/HP (but ooold)
  11. I have used malwarebytes free for years. A day or two ago I had an update but today it is gone from the toolbar. Show on desktop but when I try to open or access it says I may not have permissions. Informationally computer did an update this am when I turned it on. ?????
  12. pretty cool to have pictures like that. Its a memory test but I think my first camping experience may have been with the scouts. As for official rv's, I have had 3 but camped out of the trunk or camper shell before that.
  13. I hope you get to the bottom of it and post an update on occaision as you go. In your case I am not yet convinced it is a plot but I would not be surprised either. I am still convinced the constant onslaught about "Medicare Advantage" (part c) is a plot to kill medicare. i will be watchful over my dealings with GEHA. Good luck.
  14. I really wish I could say I was surprised but I am not. As I said I an nowhere near as happy with GEHA as I used to be. Even the GEHA dental. In all my time with the government I have been covered by GEHA. One year with Kiaser Permanete, 2 years blue cross the rest GeHA even into disability retirement then regular retirement.. The more you say the more I believe that is multiple incompetence for maybe different reasons from each one. Which GEHA option do you use? I am almost dead sure under the high option I have I don't have to use the preferred network if you have medicare. I am at the Sandia Ranger Dist. of the Cibola NF by Albuquerque. Been here every summer except 2 since 1997. Never completely wintered here but came close during the pandemic.
  15. Vlad your last post was while I was typing - also pistough. After you post I lean more toward you are dealing with some nice people who don't fully know what they are doing from the Dr office on down. I think this is more common during and after covid situation.. I still get most of meds from GEHA/caremark mail order. If I do it on line it almost always gets screwed up and they make it somewhat difficult to get to a person on the phone but I have learned to always do so if I want to come close to getting it right. One issue is when I have annual renewals there is one I don't want shipped until I know I will be somewhere to get it easily as it is shipped in cold pack. The last 2 times even with verbal and printed instructions they have shipped it anyway and I was lucky enough to get it. Of course it starts with getting the prescription right in the first place from the Dr. As I understand since you are on medicare you are not required to use the preferred provider network in the first place which again leads me to believe it is at least partly due to someone at GEHA not knowing what they are doing completely. IE: where I am volunteering with USFS we have a new employee on the front desk. Seems good and smart but no way can she answer questions with knowledge as she came from the heart hospital and barely new where the District is. If she stays she will probably be good.
  16. I have GEHA high option as a single. Since I go VA I have not had a physical or wellness check since late 90's so I can not say. One thing you state is about the coding. If the Dr and or lab doesn't code correctly they will not pay correctly. I have GEHA dental and I ran into some payment issues that were caused by the people inputing the information did not know what they were doing and it took forever to get it straightened out. I don't know if this has caused your issue but I suspect it is at least part of the problem. I am not service connected vet so GEHA picks up a part of my copays and the billing to GEHA has caused issues. I am not nearly as happy with GEHA overall as I used to be just as an informational asside.
  17. If I keep my opinion to myself I can keep everyone confused, right?😊 Like when has anyone who has known me for long ever seen me keep my opinion to myself.😜 I probably couldn't even manage it for a cash prize.
  18. Sometimes some of the most experienced and inteligent people make the biggest errors in judgement and it really makes us think it is unfathomable how they did it. Partly we are frustrated that it happened. Maybe in the back of our mind we know it could be us and we don't want to admit it.
  19. I swear the next time I do a stop at Deming I am going to try and stay at their park there. I have always meant to at least once but always end up at SKP Dreamcatcher.
  20. Hopefully it is just the glass and no window frame damage. In a pinch you could use some plexiglass or lexan. I have done 2 with plexiglass but they were not really big window. One had major frame damage and getting a replacement was a big problem.
