  1. In case you don't know, https://www.rvmobileinternet.com (Mobile Internet Resource Center by Technomadia) is the authority on mobile internet (wifi/cellular). They have great guides on about every subject. Start with https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/guides/mobile-internet-needs/ to determine your unique internet needs. That Pepwave model sounds like overkill for your current plans.
  2. So a speeding ticket is just a surcharge to drive fast in North Dakota.
  3. https://www.thedrive.com/news/44138/the-3g-shutdown-could-put-some-ev-chargers-out-of-action talks about many electric car charging stations using older 3G networks. I am sure the vendor selling such equipment to them gave them a great deal, without telling them the issue.
  4. We spent two weeks in Hawaii this fall in rental condos. Very nice, but everything is more expensive than on the mainland. If you can handle the budget, it is a great idea. Another choice is Mexico and you can drive and camp there. That seems scary to many.
  5. It sounds like we will know in late February if those using a Mobley are affected. I moved our Mobley SIM to a Unite Explore mobile hotspot years ago, so hopefully we are OK. If not, I will buy a newer hotspot and move the SIM again. All I know is the Mobley uses the Qualcomm MDM9215 chipset. I can't find information on if this chipset is affected by the 3G shutdown.
  6. Find a restaurant or store with free wifi. I have updated at Starbucks, Panera Bread and Safeway.
  7. LarryN: We have the same $65 prepaid Verizon plan and are keeping it, since the plan is no longer offered.
  8. From our experience upgrading a gas Class A, the sway bar would do the most for this issue. But our experience was from about 2002 with a Workhorse W22 chassis.
  9. I like https://www.donrowe.com/Default.asp for buying inverters and you can call them for advice,
  10. Zulu: We had a 2002 Dolphin on the W22 Workhorse chassis and spent about $4K on suspension upgrades and it then drove quite well. Not as well as our 2004 Newmar Dutch Star on a Spartan chassis, but the Newmar cost a lot more. In other words, the Workhorse ride can be fixed with upgrades.
  11. We put our cell phones on Wi-Fi and can get calls and texts that way.
  12. I admit it was a blast from the past to get the Millenicom email, but we are also well set so I ignored it.
  13. I just joined Medicare and my sleep doctor set me up with Adapthealth, https://adapthealth.com/ . We will see how it goes.
  14. Same here, we really love our 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium AWD. As long as there are hills and mountains, we get better overall mpg on highways than city, up to about 44mpg. City driving the tank mpgs are more like 34 (lots of short trips) to 40mpg.
  15. I agree to check the plans to see which is cheaper for you. I do take prescriptions, but they end up with a zero copay via my Part D plan, so my out of pocket is the Part D premium. I do feel lucky
  16. Probably the same Aetna Silverscript Part D I have. My cost is $6.30/month and it runs through Caremark and I get 90 day supplies through Costco Pharmacy.
  17. Now you are asking the general question about mobile internet instead of asking about one service. Now we can help you. The best source on this information is Mobile Internet Resource Center, run by Techmomadia hear is their getting started guide - https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/getting-started/ .
  18. That might work, but you can't spoof a Jetpack into looking like a phone and might get detected and shut down. The smart ones are using something like a MoFi4500 ($300) and making configuration changes so it looks like a phone to the network.
  19. Turns out there are special rules for those with family across the border. A US cousin is in BC right now dogsitting while his sister is on a trip.
  20. Something to note is that Verizon now had 100GB/$55 and 150GB/$80 Jetpack plans for those with unlimited cell phone plans, not just the 15GB (or 30GB for some) plans they had for a the last few years.
  21. Our Mobley SIM is working fine in its Unite Explore 815S mobile hotspot.
  22. These new data only plans are only for hotspots and mobile routers like the Mofi and others.
  23. https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/verizon-launches-new-data-only-plans-up-to-150gb-for-80-month/ for some analysis. For someone who needs lots of high speed data, this is great, as long as they are ready to pay. If you already have Verizon unlimited cell phones, you can get 150GB of data only for $80, then add T-Mobile's 100GB/$50 and AT&T's (or Crickets) 100GB/$55 and you have 350GB per month for less than $200. I know this sounds a lot compared to paying $25 on a Party plan for Visible, but there are many who need more than Visible supplies.
  24. I have seen this at the campgrounds in the Canadian Rockies, they have separate campgrounds with electric fences for tents and soft-sided trailers.
  25. If you have a Discover Pass ($30 a year) there are multiple state parks in the area. We like to walk around Anderson Lake State Park, just to the west of Evergreen Coho. We also drive to Fort Flagler State Park and when in Port Townsend we go to Fort Worden State Park for walks. Fort Townsend State Park is also local.
