  1. That is what I use, a combination of Verizon and AT&T and mostly that works great. But I often see people say they are getting rid of one of them to save money, since they have service "everywhere" on both. Where we are camped right now we have weak Verizon but solid AT&T. I know from experience that the next campsite will be the opposite, weak AT&T but solid Verizon. (I could probably improve things if I either figured out why my Maxamp now does nothing or replace the Maxamp with something else.)
  2. I don't think the Pixel 2XL has band 71 on T-Mobile, which might help in some areas. But it should be golden in Canada.
  3. More proof that Verizon and AT&T do not have coverage everywhere.
  4. Sometimes you even have to go inside twice, since the inside might also have a limit. Space Age Fuels in Eugene Oregon has a $75 limit on the pumps and a $150 limit inside. (We have a 150 gallon tank).
  5. No. Both of our Class As with generator did not come with a generator auto start, it is an option.
  6. This KOA campground in Henderson Harbor, https://koa.com/campgrounds/association-island/ , might be a bit far for you, but we enjoyed it before it was a KOA and day tripped to Thousand Islands area.
  7. One warning is it can take 4 to 6 weeks for the residential fridge to arrive once ordered. Many times there is no fridge in stock that will fit the cabinet, so you have to measure, do research and order.
  8. You must be at the Elks lodge in Keizer, since I don't know of other camping choices.
  9. I am using a $4 mechanical timer from Wal-Mart and have it on for two hours twice a day, ie., 10 hours off, 2 hours on. This is with a replacement battery in my 7730L.
  10. I called our chassis builder and they sent me to JoSam in Orlando Florida since we were close by. JoSam builds alignment equipment. I also know that Redlands Truck and RV Service in Redlands CA does alignments on motorhomes.
  11. "Wife said nope, "never going to pay a cancellation fee!" Um, but, you gain it back in a few months..." Some people are not prepared to pay the larger bill that month, even if it saves money in the long run. Others hate paying fees (or taxes) so much they will make emotional decisions that cost them real money.
  12. I have two phones and a still under contract Jetpack on Beyond Unlimited. When the Jetpack hits 15GB, it slows down to unusable. When it gets close to 15GB I get email telling me it will slow down and then email when I hit 15GB to tell me it will now be slow. The phones also have a 15GB hotspot/tethering limit before they slow down. It is all clearly displayed both when I log on to the website and check usage and on the MyVerizon app under "Details". I also have the prepaid $65 plan and can use way more than 15GB a month. The Jetpack under contract has faster speeds than the prepaid plan, so I am enjoying it for $20 + taxes for the next couple months the contract runs and then will decide if I am keeping it.
  13. I find that tethering the 8800 to my Pepwave Surf SOHO MK3 via USB keeps the prepaid plan alive better than using it via wifi.
  14. Been towing a 2012 AWD with the 4-cylinder since 2012. We have encountered the death wobble a few times, but we know what to do to to get it to calm down. We do use a fuse switch. For us it tows great, I think better than the 2002 AWD CRV we had before.
  15. I found that it was worth my while to replace my old Thinlite fluorescent fixtures with their LED replacements, since they were new and had two brightness settings. These fixtures are not available from everyone, here is where I bought mine -- http://www.solarseller.com/thin_lite_led_lighting_low_voltage_dc_12_and_24_volt.htm .
  16. Yesterday I went through Verizon chat and have an 8800L being shipped to me, even though it was marked out of stock for prepaid, and am signed up for the prepaid plan. Startup, taxes and the first month, which is at the full $70 since the person could not set up my autopay, was just over $292. Once I get the prepaid plan going I will adjust my postpaid plan.
  17. The 5510L is a fairly old model missing many of the current LTE bands, but will probably work in most areas. It won't work in Canada, but I suspect the prepaid plan doesn't work in Canada either.
  18. Those older units only support a few frequency bands. I know the 5510L, newer than your devices, I replaced with a 7730L had only a few bands (LTE 700/1700; CDMA 800/1900), while the 7730L had many more and included GSM/HSPA (LTE 700/850/1700/1800/1900/2600/AWS-3, HSPA 850/900/1900/2100,CDMA 800/1900), so it worked in Canada. (https://www.comparecellular.com/mobile-internet/novatel-mifi-7730l-mobile-hotspot/specifications.asp for specs).
  19. I might end of doing this when my Jetpack comes off contract. Yes, when I changed to the 7730L Jetpack to use it in Canada, I signed up for two years. (The 5510L Jetpack I replaced did not work in Canada since it did not support GSM networks). When we go back to Canada we will hotspot our postpaid Verizon phones.
  20. I paid $2K per eye extra to use multi-focal lens last year when I had cataract surgery. They did extra tests to make sure it was going to be a success and it was. I can now read and drive comfortably with both eyes. They used Symfony lenses in my case and the work was done by Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute's office in Silverdale WA.
  21. We have stayed at Grandma's in Shepherdsville, which was decent and we felt safe. But I am not sure I would call it "clean and quiet in a good area".
  22. We stayed a week once in fall and had no problem with the electricity and we do have voltage protection and a very visible voltage meter. Sounds like a place to avoid in summer. It is also not the only one, there are many campgrounds that can't support all the RVs running their air conditioners at once.
  23. I agree, why not? We all camp in the same places.
  24. Interesting. A good body and paint shop should mix their own colors to match what you have and not depend on the RV manufacturer. I know Straight Line RV and Boat, http://www.straightline-rv.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html, in Oregon and Arizona, works that way.
  25. There is also United Shade - http://unitedshade.com/catalog/roller-shades-for-rvs/roller-shades/day-night-roller-shades/ .
