  1. Not an RV question but hoping there are other Dodge Ram owners. Ever since we had the software on the truck updated we've had trouble. The engine runs rough and there's a terrible diesel smell. The dealer can't figure it out. Anyone else have this trouble and/or a fix? Thanks in advance!
  2. We're thinking of ditching Directv for YouTube TV. We'd be interested in input from anyone who's doing that or tried it. Thanks in advance!
  3. We're looking into Starlink. Would love to hear experiences you all have had. Our goal is to get rid of Directv and possibly ATT. Want to know monthly expenses, ease of use, customer service, etc. Thank in advance!
  4. We have a fifth wheel with batteries less than a year old. We also have a residential refrigerator. Recently the batteries have started discharging while we driving. The inverter is on and the 7 pin cord is plugged into the truck. When we turn off the inverter the battery level remain normal. But then the refrigerator is off. Any ideas on how to find out what's wrong? Thanks in advance!
  5. We have been rving for 13 years now. We have aways cleaned our black tank with a good water flush and no chemicals. We are on our 6th fifth wheel, always purchasing them new. Invariably the black tank level indicators quit giving an accurate read in time but you learn to estimate. Our boating friends swear by NoFlex digester. Anyone have any RVers experience with it? Thanks in advance!
  6. Just ending a long trip through many states. Marijuana is legal in many of them. This morning an older couple next to us was enjoying some with their coffee. I have no problem with that. But then they proceeded to pack up and travel! These folks were old and had a difficulty getting around and were in a big rig! I was fabergasted! No advice just had to share!
  7. We have been using copilot app for navigation for a while and love it. It doesn't require internet and allows you to program the size of your rig (very important! ). The only problem I have is that there is no way to change the size of the font in the map. This is becoming a problem for me. I would love to figure out how to change the font size. If I can't do that then maybe another app that's good for a big rig?
  8. The good news is that we have a new fifth wheel on order. The bad news is after four years the a/c in the living room is acting up. The compressor comes on for a few minutes then cuts off. Any suggestions?
  9. Hi all, After a year of no posts from me this is the 4th in three days! Want to replace the carpet. The carpet is only on one of the living room slides. All the rest of our fifth wheel is tile. Any input? Thanks in advance!
  10. Hi all, Hoping to be able to travel in 2021. Covid and health issues kept us home in 2020. While I was home for the year I got some orchids. I'd love to be able to take them with me while we travel. Anyone have experience with orchids on the road? I've heard they are pretty finicky. Also don't know how to secure them when we're on the move. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi all, The living room furniture is starting to wear out (I never liked it anyway). Would love input on replacing the couch and recliners. Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi all, Due to covid and health issues we haven't been able to travel. But looks like 2021 we will be back on the road! We have directv and are no longer able to get NY feed for local channels. Any advice on how to proceed? Thanks in advance!
  13. Hi all, We use our DirecTV when we can but on occasion we have to use our off air antenna. We have a Winegard razar that works great but the control panel keep breaking down. The panel wouldn't allow the antenna to lock on any channels. We are now replacing it for the second time. The part is expensive to replace. Winegard told my husband to check the voltage, it's fine. Our fifth wheel is three years old and we have used off air about a dozen times. Has anyone else had trouble like this? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  14. Hi all, I'm thinking about purchasing a folding electric bike. I still want the exercise of a bike but want a little push up hills etc. I am 5'9" and weigh 137. The one I'm looking at is under $500 and weighs about 30 pounds. I want something I can still get a workout on. Would love any input. Thanks!
  15. Thanks again for all your input! You have given us much valuable information.
  16. The printed material from MORryde has a section on determining the rubber shear spring deflection. The springs are not separating laterally. The deflection is a vertical measurement. The deflection has gone from 2.5 inches to 1inch after less than 3 months and 7000 miles. It sounds like they might not have put a strong enough shear spring based on the weight. Or the hydraulic shock is failing.
  17. It's a 2017 Ambition. We think we're just under 20k pounds loaded. It appears that the gap the rubber shear springs has narrowed from 2 1/2 inches to about 1 inch. Thanks!
  18. Hi all, We just switched from axels to MorRyde independent suspension system on our fifth wheel in April. We are very pleased with ride and stability. We are concerned after seven thousand miles that the rubber shear springs and hydraulic shocks are not preforming the way we were led to believe. We would love to hear from anyone who has done this conversion. Thanks!
  19. Hi all, Quick update- I called DirecTV (one hour on the phone!). They said to disregard the email. I told them that the email said that "federal law does not allow DNS signals in a permanent resident". They said my account didn't need to worry about it. I have already sent in all the information they requested. They assured me it won't matter. We'll see.......
  20. Hi all, My hubby and I have a sticks and bricks but are on the road at least 6 months of the year. We have been DirecTV customers for 20+ years. When we travel we take our DVR boxes from the house and transfer them to the rv. I just got an email from them saying that they needed us to provide them with vehicle registration. I plan on calling them but I thought I'd check to see if anyone else has had this request. I think they will want us to establish a second account for the rv. I think we give them enough money as it is. Thanks in advance. I'm going to post this on another forum as well.

  22. We just replaced the valve for the fourth or fifth time, can't remember. My husband is able to do the work. There is a major design flaw there. Anderson is always very nice. And they continue to replace it even though we're out of warranty. The good news is that after all that we don't think it did harm the water pump. Even better news is that we have ordered a new RV that doesn't have the Anderson valve. Just two months until we pick it up!
  23. Jack and Kirk, Checked with the valve maker. They said they have been having trouble with the valves. They are replacing the inside of the valve for free. We're still not certain the pump is working correctly. We'll see. Thanks!
  24. That is one of the things that happens. So maybe it's the pump too. The main problem we're addressing is that when it's set on city and all the faucets in the unit are off water still is running in to the rig. We didn't know where the water was going until the it began overflowing out of the fresh water tank. We thought that if the valve had failed that it would send the water to both the interior faucets and the fresh water tank. Could that also be the pump and not the valve? Thanks Kirk!
  25. Yes Kirk, it is. We mistakenly used it on city both for city and the pump (rather than change it to normal). Something broke in the valve and when we set it on city it not only supplies the interior faucets but fills the fresh water tank. Found a replacement online. Looks pretty straightforward but thought I'd check in. Thanks!
