  1. Here is the Canadian government's information on importing pets:

Bringing animals to Canada: Importing and travelling with pets - Canadian Food Inspection Agency

In part, it says: "Pet rabbits from the United States do not require an import permit or health certificate."

There is additional information on importing rabbits on the above page.

When we've crossed over into Canada, the only thing we've been asked about were firearms and alcohol...they didn't even ask to see information about our dog!  And while customs may ask about different or additional items, I'm pretty confident that you will be able to keep your kitchen knives!

Oh, and keep your rabbit food in its original bag.  While the above site doesn't mention that, I know for dogs and cats, you must have the food in the original container, so I'd play it safe on that front.

I had not thought of it until I read your post but I can't remember the last Amazon package that we got via FedEx. We live in the outskirts of the D/FW area and by far the majority of our deliveries are Amazon drivers, next would be USPS, and occasionally something larger via UPS. I do see the FedEx trucks in our neighborhood.

Same here.  I can't remember when any of my Amazon deliveries have been via FedEx.  It's usually UPS or USPS.  I don't recall an Amazon truck delivering anything here, either, which is strange since we have an Amazon fulfillment center near the airport, so I would have thought I'd often see Amazon trucks making deliveries here.

Chewy always uses FedEx and we've never had a problem with them.

AND YOU CANNOT TALK TO A LIVE PERSON.

I assume this is because of the current outage?  Because they do have both a customer service number and a technical service number.

Have you tried messaging them from their Facebook page?  I've had good luck doing this with other companies, including Sling which is owned by Dish.

Until they fix the issues, were it me, I would sanitize my freshwater tank and use it and the onboard water pump as it provides, or should provide good pressure inside.

    X2.

While we were boondockers, on those rare times we stayed in an RV park, we continued to run off our fresh water tank and water pump.

If you can, drive to Alaska.  You'll see a lot more than on a cruise and you can take your cat.  Spend the whole summer for the trip and begin the return late August.  Return via the Cassier and you can stop in Hyder to watch the bears fish.  That's the time they are there.

    X2.

Regarding pets on a cruise to Alaska: All pets must remain in the RV.  You'll have certain times during the day when you can go down to visit and walk them (dogs).  You will not be allowed to sleep in the RV.

I'm not familiar with either those products but I agree the Firesticks seem to have planned obsolescence. I replaced a Firestick with a Roku 4K and it is far more robust that the Firestick at a comparable price.

I'll be taking a look at the Roku, too, although the guy that did the review on the Nvidia, that I referenced above, says the Nvidia's interface is better than the Roku Ultra.  I don't know how the Ultra differs from the 4K that you have.

I do have a question about the Roku (and it applies to the Nvidia, too):  Do you have to pay for your Amazon Prime Video on the Roku?  I'm a Prime member and on my Fire Stick, the Prime Video app is free.  However, a neighbor who has a Roku and is also a Prime member, says he has to pay for Prime Video.

  7. Is anyone familiar with either of these products?

I just ordered my 4th Fire Stick -- they seem to stop working after about a year, so I'm looking for a better solution to streaming.  I came across this article, Grab an NVIDIA Shield TV Pro During This Rare Sale – Review Geek, and the two products it discusses sounds interesting, although I don't know if they have the same limited life as the Fire Sticks do.

I would probably go with the less expensive Shield TV Streaming Stick rather than the Pro since I don't need most of the features the Pro has (i.e., local media files, cloud & Android games).  I know it's expensive, but based on what I've already spent on 4 Fire Sticks, it's affordable, particularly if it has a longer life.  If it's going to stop working after a year, I'll just stick with the Fire Stick.

  8. If you're in an RV park for any length of time, ask if they will accept mail (not all will).

You can also have it sent to General Delivery. However, not all post offices accept GD mail, so check beforehand (this is especially true in larger towns and cities that have more than one post office -- usually only the main post office accepts GD mail).

  9. We got home this afternoon safe and sound.  Roads were clear and dry except going over the Blue Mountains, but they were just wet...no snow or ice.

Earl hasn't been using his oxygen concentrator since he stepped foot in the house, but I have it set up just in case.  He still tires out easily, but that's to be expected.  I'm sure he'll gain strength over time.

(The dogs are happy to be home, too! 😂 )
