  1. His red wire is on his icc markers instead of his break lights. If his direct link is also using red as his brake light sensor the 2 reds should be together. His black is on 12v (should be on icc marker)and I am guessing the black 4wire is supposed to be power for the direct link. What a mess!
  2. Someone may have already thought of this, but backing the RZR into the garage instead of driving it in will distribute the weight closer to the axles and should add more hitch weight. There is generally more weight on the rear axle on a side-by-side than the front.
  3. On most trucks with air brakes, the brake lights are activated by a pressure switch in the brake lines. If the Johnson bar output is disconnected from the brake system in the right spot it won’t make the brake lights activate. With the Johnson bar being a regulated valve it should make for an interesting air horn control. Should be able to change the sound of the horn in pitch and volume somewhat.
  4. Yes you can have a bad cell and get a good voltage reading with no load. If you load test them it will usually show if they are still good. I have had batteries last 10 years and others not make it a year.
  5. On my 09 T660 the clutch pedal doesn’t return all the way to the top all the time. If I pull it up with my foot then my jake and cruise work. My issue is the pedal needs to be lubricated under the dash.
  6. We have a 05 Raptor. We lived in it for 9 months in Minnesota.(was out of it January, February, March) And did that for 2 years. I would not call it a full time rig but it has been a good long stay rig. As all rigs it has had its issues over the almost 20 years (purchased new in 04) but overall it’s a good rig. It has spent most of its life outside thru the winters and has held up well. If used you just have to look at how it was taken care of. We have not changed campers because we have not found any we like the floor plan for and what we have is still taking care of us.

    air lines

I just removed mine and capped off the lines. My 5er is still electric brakes so I have no need for the airlines at this time but could easily add them if I convert to air over hydraulic.
  8. Most weigh about 50# depending on what brand compressor.
  9. If your wiring to and from the breaker are not good for that much amperage they would melt down before the breaker would trip. It would be like having a 20 amp breaker on 10 amp wiring in a house and plugging in a 15 amp device. The breaker would hold while the wire is getting damaged instead of actually protecting things. So I would get a breaker that is closer to the proper amperage.
  10. The new box and blower motor bolted right in. I got an aluminum box with blower for$495. Stainless was over a thousand. If the truck was going to be running in the winter maybe I would have went with the stainless but half the cost fit my budget better.
  11. My blower motor died when we where out over Father’s Day weekend. It made for a warm ride home as it was 100 on Father’s Day. When I went to pull the old motor out I found that the entire heater box was rusted out. So I ended up finding a complete heater box with a new motor.
  12. I had my fan motor quit Father’s Day weekend but had to replace the complete heater box. Mine was rusted out. The plus side was driving into the wind I had some AC with all the holes in the box.
  13. Maybe check the wheel bearings on each axle of the trailer? If it was mine I would after hearing that, but I have had wheel bearings fail before. My camper had the bearings not tight enough on 2 hubs on the one side from the factory. Never thought to check them on a new rig till tires were wearing funny. Was able to get a half a turn on each axle nut to get them back to being correct.
  14. One more thing to check is the electrical connections. I had a loose connection in my transfer switch for the generator on the shore power side and it would loose voltage when the AC was running. It burnt out an AC unit before we found the real issue. Eventually the transfer switch failed and that’s when we found the real issue with the AC. We added voltage and amperage monitoring to our 120 volt system so we can make sure we are getting good power. If we see lower voltage we start looking for the cause. Is it poor power at the campground or is there a bad connection.

    Onan Fuel Pump

The one thing I found out when mine went out is Onan uses a low pressure fuel pump. If a 7-9 lbs pump is used it will hold the needle open. I think it is a 3 lbs max pressure pump. I went with a aftermarket pump as well.
  16. I live in one state(MN) and work in the other(ND) as my full time job. I still pay taxes in my residence state. Not the state I work in. Even when I was on the road as a theatre gig worker I still only payed state tax to my home state(MN) and the company I worked for was in NY. The nice thing here is ND has an agreement with MN so my employer hold MN tax. When I was part time I forgot to fill out the reciprocity form for state tax and had to file both MN and ND. I was sent back every thing that was sent to ND.
  17. I singled mine as I wanted it to be a little shorter. The frame shop that did the work pulled the front axle and moved the back axle forward and had the driveshaft reworked to fit. The issue that was had on mine was the ABS. 09 Kenworth 660 was a chore to get rid of the light on the dash. The fix the they did was putting all 4 wheel sensors on the one axle. I hope to find a better fix in the future but it does work for now. The shop did the work for $2000.
  18. It’s most likely leaking from the leveling valve. With the movement of the suspension they tend to be the first spot to leak.
  19. Most HDT trucks draw from one tank and return to the other one. There is a crossover line to equalize the level. If the truck is running, the draw tank will be lower than the return.
