    Tires

I run Michelin’s….for maybe the wrong reason. When I bought my new Phaeton it came with the Michelin 275X80R/22.5 tires. I’ve never stored my RV out in the elements, it’s in an enclosed storage facility on concrete. The original tires started to show pretty severe sidewall cracking after about 4-1/2 years. Michelin replaced them all, except for the tire installation fee ($225). I was shocked that they did a total replacement. They won some loyalty from me for that gesture.
  2. For what’s it’s worth….We started out many years ago with a new Coachman Prism (24 footer on Mercedes Sprinter chassis), still the best RV I’ve ever owned. We found out on our very first trip it just wouldn’t work. Sleeping arrangement, etc… Kept it about a year and traded up to a new 34 foot FRED Serrano…..kept it about 5 years and wanted something still larger. Ended up trading it on a new Tiffin Phaeton 40QBH. We are very happy with the larger unit. All I would recommend is that you fully understand the RV before purchase. Make sure it fits your needs, floor plan and layout is so important. Maybe rent one for a brief weekend?? We loved the Prism, but either myself or my wife had to crawl over the other to get to the bathroom, wasn’t enough room for a 6’1 inch guy to stretch out on the bed, etc….Good luck on your decision.
  3. Recently had an L-Sofa replaced with Bradd & Hall theatre seating recliners with console in between the recliners. Even has a charging station built in. We love the change! Should have done it sooner. Good luck with the conversion!
  4. I tow a 2018 Tahoe Premier behind my Tiffin. Per GM you must use a disconnect on the Negative battery terminal…..I had the base-plate installer run a 12V power source (plug) for my Patriot braking system. I do run an umbilical from my RV to my Tahoe to insure constant charging. OR: What techdad55 said above…..
