  1. i'm not sure but I'm assuming the agent make the same mistake entering my wife's name as she did with mine. The agent admitted she was relatively new.
  2. Thanks, Kirk for these leads. I have Progressive now and they hiked my premium by almost 50% when I traded up from an F250 to a 350. I know the 350 is a higher value truck but that alone doesn't justify a 50% premium hike. The agent couldn't even explain why it went up so much.
  3. OK, it turned out to be a false alarm. I went back to Avis today, with passport as a second form of ID, but this time they accepted my license as ID. Turns out yesterday the agent either typed in or didn't type in my middle initial, not sure which, but it confused their system and that's why my license didn't get accepted the first time. I do have the star on my license, BTW. Someone actually told me about that yesterday. Thanks again for all your concerns!
  4. i have Last Pass password vault, and it has a feature to store all of that type of information in addition to passwords.
  5. Thanks Kirk. I intend to contact both Texas DPS and Escapees on Monday after the holiday weekend. P.S. my wife tried also with her DL and it too was rejected.
  6. Was wondering if anyone else domiciled in TX had a similar issue with their driver's license as happened to me today. Wife and I just obtained DL's in April 2021 using our Livingston addy. I tried to rent a car today and Avis' system would not accept my Texas DL as a valid form of ID. They said it was an issue on the state DPS end. They needed a second form of government-issued ID to rent me the car. So they're not rejecting it as an invalid license, only as ID. I have to go back tomorrow with my passport to get the car. Has anything like this happened to any of you with TX domicile and DL? Mike
  7. Landdocker had a very limited selection of properties for sale when I checked. We started full-timing a few months ago planning to settle somewhere eventually. So now I'm just looking at ideas for a permanent RV place; not sure what we'll wind up doing.
  8. I went into my local store in early February and got the 100 GB plan for $50/mo no problem. We do not have a phone plan with T Mobile but still no surcharge. They had to order the M2000 hotspot as the store did not have them, but we got it delivered within 2 days. I am using the hotspot now in a rural area in western Maryland and am getting a good 4G signal, all except for last night when it dropped out for a few hours. Other than that no problem. This I intend to be our primary internet when we go full time starting sometime in March. We also have hotspots on our phone with Consumer Cellular as a secondary. We will see how it goes. Mike
  9. The RV is financed now but I am paying cash. We are planning to close the deal at the credit union where the unit is financed. Sounds like my next step should be to contact the credit union to ask what they think is the best way to proceed.
  10. Hi all. I'm looking at buying a 5th wheel from a private seller from another state. Was thinking about setting up an escrow to hold funds until the title is transferred. Has anyone done this? If so, with whom did you set up the escrow? Looking for recommendation from satisfied users. Thanks, Mike
