  1. my photo of thermostat is too large 104 with a file size limit of 100 Dealer stuck me with "traded out" to connect bedroom unit with new living room unit They said new 6 wire system a/c would not work with 4 wire thermostat and bedroom old style 4 wire would not work with new 6 wire main unit and new thermostat Claimed dometic sent new cabling twice but nothing worked til they swapped out bedroom unit which worked fine when it went in. Over $3,000 and 4 months later i have a new living room a/c, new thermostat, and a replaced a/c in bedroom. I brought home both old a/c's & old thermostat. Old living room supposedly had heat pump......not sure new one does. Only happy i got my rv out and home. Waiting to see if all works to make wife happy.
  2. In 1995 we stayed at Liberty Park Marina campground, not sure what we paid but, on the Hudson river across from the twin towers, 2 blocks to subway direct to twin towrrs subwsy station, view downriver of Lady Liberty. Was well worth it, but it was worth it for 1-1/2 hour 4th of july fireworks show
  3. Fulltime april thru june 2021, hot weather in may-june rear main a/c did not keep up. Mobile Service blew out filters says is fine but no change. Took to dealer in october for winter prep and replace rear a/c. Service check, old unit running at spec. New unit installed, system will not allow both units running. Dometic twice provided fabricated harness but still no resolution. ANYONE have issue replacing 1 old unit with 2 unit rv? Any known resolution? Thanks for any ideas.
  4. My super duty has 36 ish gallons which is a 200 mile range. My wifes bladder has less distance than that. But we do bring our own bathroom. Now i have been intrigued by the tool boxes shaped like a fifth wheel bedgate which gets positioned in bed rear of the fifth wheel hitch. Any opinions on rear of bed toolboxis welcomed.
  5. Looking at hdt site awhile. Ran my own interstate authority with a T600 KW with 300 cummins and eaton 10 spd single axle 60 inch sleeper. Should have never sold that truck. Towing '09 DRV 36TK3 with a '02 superduty 4dr drw 7.3 with 4spd auto. Sweet rv and cherry truck with Lariat package and with only 56k is like new.
  6. Always Before i throw the switch on my electrical work i text photos and then call my brother in law a licensed electrician He is doing my whole house generator in december to be sure all parties concerned are safe
  7. Again many thanks, i reread and copy and pasted oldjohnt step by step breakdown, plus the diagram and breakdowns from glen and ken i feel comfortable adding the rv plug box now. Moved into a newer house this summer and well digger pulled out all wiring to rear garage so i had to install new panel this summer. So now i can add the 50 rv plug i've had sitting on shelf for a year
  8. Thanks to all, oldjohnt broke it all down. I have installed multiple barn / shed electrical panels but have been warned "NOT TO WIRE IT 220 OR YOU WILL FRY YOUR RV" I have pretty much read before what oldjohnt said about opposite legs L 1& L2 being + & - and not being "? In phase?" to be 220 in the rv wiring I use a plug in power checker for rv parks but before i install a 50 amp rv plug at home for my rv well I am real anal about checking 50 times with 50 sources that i understand it correct and can weed out the bull advisors Thanks again for all of your time, experience and information
  9. I have a 2009 DRV Elite suite So a 50 amp rv has 2 50 amp hot leads.......so in phase or out of phase..... if in phase is 220.....right? Every one says 220 will fry rv electrical.....how do i get 2-50 amp legs from breaker panel without being 220?
  10. Ah turns out a short way down road corner pops past trim but if i open back up a foot and reclose it pops around by itself. Thanks
  11. Like it was mentioned, it is the gettingin a HDT. My knees have been replaced, i was a owner operator w/ 1988 T600 KW . Loved the ride but my wife wont learn to slip shift and i refuse to own a computer dependant def pig. My tow vehicle is 2002 F350 4dr dw 8ft bed with 7.3 and 3 spd auto, daily driver is 03 f250 7.3 3 spd auto ext cabw/ 8ft bed. Spent a few years daily up n down from hdt cab. Nice ride but do not put 14 hr days in behind a windshield anymore. Rv is a 09 drv 36tk3. As any time u r on the seat watch, wait, plan and prepare
  12. Mounting a generator behind rear wheels is sketchy. Road debris dust etc if going north salt will destroy circuit boards......you do not want to learn the way i did
  13. Top rear corner of curbslide hits exterior trim piece top 1/3. Slide will not be able to go in. If i pry it around would likely tear off moulding coming out. Will pressure while i going in and out "reposition" slide?
  14. Not in disagreement of any of specs or warnings on capacity or danger of overloading. After 20 plus years of vehicle manufacturing engineering design experience with prototype vehicle testing experience i can tell you manufacturers rate vehicles at 2/3 of spec design intent and durability test failures. So over rated spec is at your risk but design material rating and testing provide 1-1/2 x rated capacity for liability protection for manufacturer as well as any incident by user.
  15. As a former OTR O/O, tri axles are for weight carry capacity but more so to provide a properly engineered trailer to have the braking capacity for that weight. Electric (magnet) brakes do not have sufficient braking with 2 axles for increased weight. Converting to electric actuated hydraulic brakes will provide greater braking. When considering the tires you will replace with 3 axles rotating on middle axle the upfront cost will save you maitenence and downtime cost.
  16. If anything like a home install Open door and look for screws going up or to each side. Rear of micro likely hangs on rail near lower of rear of micro
  17. I have a 2009 Winegard Roadtrip with 2 dish wallys. the wallys load sw44 which does not recognise (locate) 119 or 129 satelittes on our unit. Winegard says we need to get the SW64 switch installed but dish says no can do with software. I have seen posts where a switch is installed on the roof? Detroit area does not seem yo have much field support from dish techs. We are 10 days from moving into our home after 3 months fulltime glamping. Kinda like closing barn door after horse is out but with Michigan weather and packing away our household when we sold......would like to be better prepared after we settle into house. Anyone know how to get switch installed or updated or technician sipport in northern Detroit suburbs.
  18. I have a winegard roadtrip on my 2009. We set up 2 wally's and everything was great for 2weeks. We lost some channels and thought dish had dtopped broadcasting them. Turns out we lost 119 satelite We are on northeast zone Then we lost all satelittes Multiple time on phone we only have local basic channels and 61.5 and 110 will not lock in.we are stationary since april 1 Dish referred local techs who do not answer phone number we were given in northeastern suburbs of Detroit
  19. Spending the season in Bouvier Bridge Marina RV Resort. Nice location by Anchor Bay marina for walks by the water. Great RV supply store, full hookup, great location in middle of New Baltimore - Port Huron waterfront. Reasonable weekly, monthly, seasonal rates.
  20. Big greg, when preparing to fulltime in our 2009 Elite suite 36TK3 we moved the recliners, with the typical shredding leather, out and upon moving in one of our recliners being moved out of sticks n bricks, wait no way, the rv recliners are comfortable but literally 25% narrower so 2 "home" recliners would not fit. The sofa is very comfortable and the storage under seat is great but wish it was a full sleeper. Not sure if it was ever available
