  1. Dodd Evans out of Rutledge, GA. It appears that his inventory ebbs and flows based on what he services. I had him meet me at an outlet mall off I-20; took maybe 10 min. He said he travels through the SE.
  2. I have bought AGM batteries off of Facebook marketplace with good results. Most of the vendors that service the major cell phone carrier towers replace their standard UPS batteries after several years. In most cases these batteries have seen limited use and originally were designed per commercial specs. Two I recently bought had ratings of 10-12 years at 5000 charge / discharge cycles (Hitachi CS3 HRL 1254OW FR). The guy I bought from was near Atlanta and serviced the SE. Just waited for him to travel near my area so that I could meet him and buy (shipping costs would be a killer). He performs capacity load tests on his before selling them. The two 134 AH batteries were $60 each and so far have performed very well over the last year. We used to buy similar batteries from others for many years to buy backup power supply batteries for a ham radio repeater on a remote hilltop. They will typically last several years. As any other lead acid battery, the key is to limit discharges to <50% and keep them in a reasonably cool environment. Regardless, these batteries were a significant upgrade to my previous Group 24 70 AH battery. My two cents.
  3. I originally had something like this happen where the frig cooled great on electric but not propane. Turned out to be a weak propane tank regulator.
  4. I purchased one of these BAOFENG radios as well just to have a small HT to take on the road. Just didn't think I could pass up the price. But, I have found the user interface and the ability to program problematic to the point that I avoid using it. Had to take it to a friend's house who had a computer interface and program to initially setup for my local area. Maybe if you used it on simplex only it would be ok. But otherwise I would spend the money to buy something with a better HMI (human machine interface) for interfacing with HAM repeaters (after you get your license). I actually bought a couple of inexpensive COBRA FM band HTs to back the trailer in campsites for my wife and I. Also about $25 but require no license and will work fine for point to point simplex over a small distance. Dave AB4RE
  5. There are several good videos on YouTube that show you how to troubleshoot and repair an RV water heater. This would be a good start. There are many others...
  6. I have had this happen before on a car many years ago (1991 Honda Accord). Was my daughter's college commute car. Several tire dealers looked at it and couldn't find the slow leak. Finally bought some professional leak detection soap solution (Big Blue) which I found can find just about anything..... found a small pin hole leak in the aluminum wheel casting. Took a small punch and peened the hole (hit it with the tip of the punch and mechanically fuse the metal together) and stopped the leak. Then took my time looking for a replacement wheel on the chance that the flaw was more significant than just the pin hole flaw.
