  1. There has been a CruiserLift DW58 on the Ok City Craigslist
  2. We probably will just make one trip to our Ozark land then later a trip to Freeport on the coast.
  3. Yes, 4 air bags . I am sure even thier 20k has 4 bags as well
  4. Does Oregon consider those swivel wheel trailers like CruserLift or ToyTote that mount to the 5ers frame as double towing ?
  5. I got a super deal on what turned out to be a 25K with the Binkley style hitch. It needs some touch up paint and a new inlet valve but I didn't think a big deal to fix. Now to find that big toy hauler & sell my BW 18k Patriot
  6. Anyone using this brand of air ride hitch ? I must live a pretty sheltered life as I've never heard the is brand , Air Safe, until yesterday. we are looking at going to a pretty heavy toyhauler & I have been looking for a replacement for my 18K B&W Patriot .
  7. We are 73 and while not full time do several trips a year. My Wife is now unable to help while actually on the road due to her Parkinson's & AFIB so is kinda like driving solo she sleeps a lot if she gets still .i have to do most of the setup/tear down . I say do the trip unless health wise you need to put off. Have some tools that make any repairs needed easier such as battery powered impact wrench. Thier is also still good folks that will stop & help. i would drive less & stay camped more. A long time ago heard a full timer tell his driving rule. He called it the 442 rule : 400 miles or 4 PM then 2 cocktails. You could adjust that to 332 or222 etc. maybe find a traveling companion !
  8. We had a 6point hydraulic system installed by Equalizer Systems in Elkhart Indiana about 6 years back. I was going to do the install but thier shop price was just too good so we took a trip. It took 1 1/2 days to install & has been worth every dime to me.
  9. Thanks all for the info. Been looking at the CruiserLift double wheel model to carry a 48v golf car. Torn between these or small trailer double towing. I've asked on some other sites but not much response from actual users.
  10. We use an add-on step called Port-A-Step. It's aluminum & hooks on your existing steps
  11. Per my hi school chemistry teacher 54 yrs ago, water freezes at 32 deg F minus 100 calories. Mrs. Peters had a way of makeing sure her students would remember certain lectures.
  12. Well excuse me for being so dumb. I'll go away now
  13. Arkansas is one state that will honor the senior pass at its State Parks. The discount is only given after the 1st night but I don't mind. We stay each June for a week at Withrow Springs for my Wife's family reunion. We also stay at several CoE parks here in East Texas and FtWorth and senior pass allways honored.
  14. Allways ask if it's an " on or before " type loan. We were looking at a new 5er and thought about using the dealers financing as the price was actually lower that way. The gotcha was the payoff penalty if payed off in first year. Worked out same as cash price which I think cash should be cheaper. we bought a new car in Dec. and financed thru our CU even tho on paper higher interest than dealer. Our CU has payed back a substantial amount of interest to members each year so the true cost of the loan is cheaper. The loan is probably going to go as it just bugs me to owe money.
  15. Your spot on. I should have looked before replying. I just looked at my WM app & sure nuff $95 & some change
  16. I was looking at my Walmart at these last night, $174. Where are they on sale , we might need a trip.
  17. Not meaning to say you did, just reminding OP of things not to do.
  18. Get the current rule from tax guy. Once you rent it you lose your " tax free income from sale of your home " . Check it but you would have to move back in for 3 years to get the income shelter at sale back . If you try and hide the rent or take the tax free income the IRS calls that FRAUD.
  19. As a former landlord, why not sale since you already looking at minimum 3 years. I see this arrangement as just trading dollars of an asset that grows in value for an asset that falls very rapidly in value. Some renters take great care of the property and some can tear it up so bad the rent doesn't cover the repairs. Think phone call at 2am wanting to know why the AC isn't working and is the service guy in the driveway yet. Remember the rent received is taxable income and if you still have a mortgage only the interest portion is deductible. There is expenses that are deductible but is it worth it on one house
  20. Our 2011 Jayco the AC in living room is ducted thru rv with (2) vent in bedroom .the AC in bedroom just cools bedroom, doesn't feed duct system.
  21. My accountant referred to it as " raising a red flag ".
  22. Why not come I-20 to Tx then go south at Lindale US 69 to Tyler's loop 323 , take right then right at Hwy 31 to Corsicana then I-35 south to Austin. If you have a toll tag go just past 69 & take loop49 toll Dr to 31. I don't know about east of Tx but once you get in Texas there is rv parks everywhere and more being built
  23. Per her, if you use the rv in business and especially if you put signage on it you fall under Tx & Fed motor carrier ( commercial rules ) . It gets confusing as if you stay under 26k gvwr you don't need a CDL but will need DOT # . If operating based in Tx contact DPS compliance office and get with one of their people. Other states probably have similar .. I said earlier if you keep it to yourself that you work inside your rv, she & her colleges probably would never know. She is in a really good mood when we all get together and she has " caught " someone not following the rules and Austin has notified her what operator is going to owe in fines. It isn't cheap. But they are easy peezy compared to an IRS audit.
  24. We have a very good friend that is a Tx DPS compliance/safety auditor of commercial vehicle operators. I asked her about this same thing awhile back. If you have an " office " you work out of its falls under Tx & Fed commercial rules . Even she says unless you stick a sign on the rv saying what you do she probably would never catch you being non-compliant. My accountant allways advised me to never try to write off the purchase of my hobbies ( hvac business ), MH/airplane/bass boat/rv. Some MH titles just reflect the chassis it's built around, just saying probably more than one written off this way.
