  1. Have any of you ever felt like they are taken advantage of while work camping? I'm on my first assignment so maybe this is just the way it is.. I agreed to not more than 20 hrs per week in exchange for FHU , mostly grounds maintenance. Ive not worked less than 30 hrs per week and most weeks its 7 days . I get satisfaction on the grounds looking good and repairing equipment in the shop. It seems all work eat and sleep. To you experienced work campers, is this the normal? should I just "suck it up" Im here and will make the best of it and finish out my agreement until Labor day. I'm asking so I know what to expect moving foreword with future assignments G the G
  2. I had the exact issue. When connected dome to the outside cable input I could not get power to the dome. I think there must be some diodes or some such thing only allowing signal in and not out. Soooo I ran coax from dome directly to wally and solved problem. The down side was I had the coax routed under the door into the coach. I bought another outside coax connector drilled a hole rubber grommet and an interior wall plate near the wally now I have a working system that looks neat and professional. I still don't understand why I could not get signal out through the original set up for park cable. Im happy with my new set up G the G
  3. I did that yesterday also hope that will solve the issue thank you for your reply

  6. your right its a DM2672 and the plastic thing is the thermistor fridge is new as well as the camper t the probe attached to the cable was not inserted into the plastic piece on the fin I put it in but runs at 33 34 degrees Im thinking it should be closer to 38 40 degrees am I right or wrong in this thinking.?
  7. My fridge runs too cold the plastic piece that slides up and down does not seem to make a difference. Is there a master setting someplace?
  8. Ive traveled from New mexico to Wisconsin the long way. This unit worked well no issues I just wish the monitors screen was larger
  9. Thats pretty much what I did found hot and ground wire on middle running light on back it works well i do wish for a larger monitor screen though
  10. Thanks for the reply Kirk W.. I decided I wanted all 3 running (marker) lights working so I mounted the observation / back up camera 2' inches below the middle light.. I drilled a 1/2" hole and rubber grommet to run new wires through the siding for protection then tied into existing harness. There is good 12 volt power and ground there. The wireless monitor in in the cab of my truck plugs into the 12 volt power center and works good after pairing. Yes I do need to have marker lights lit for unit to operate , but I generally have them on when running. oh yes about the only thing that was clear in the instructions was red wire is hot and black is ground. 11. that's what I meant just wrong choice of words
  12. I'm traveling this coming Wednesday I need to bein Wisconsin in a couple weeks. I'm late 60's and some health issues. I am self contained only needing to stop to take on fuel and occasionally dump tanks. Risky? maybe but..... G the G
  13. Update I finally found a U tube video that dealt with installing from scratch not pre rigged. It gave me e3nough of an idea that this morning before it got too hot out I got it done. after pulling more wire out I did see the green and white and then knew which was hot and which was neutral used test light to make sure. Took about an hour and a half because I didn't have the right size wire nuts had to go get a couple.
  14. I bought a furrion vision s observation system camera.. The install directions are vague. Everything I read on the internet covers installing on a rig that is pre rigged for the camera and basically just plug and play. In my case My rig is not pre rigged. Questions for some of you more informed folks is can I just remove the center of the 3 running lights upper center of the back of rig snip the wires and connect? Or would it be better to mount above or below the running lights drill hole and try to fish the wires out. I did remove one lens and see both wires to the light are black. The wires on the camera 12 volt connection is one red one black being both wires to the light are both black does it matter which is which? Im wanting to get on the road next week and hoping to get this set up. thanks for any info you canshare with me George
  15. Thank you for the great answers.
  16. Thank you for all the great answers. If I understand right I can charge my battery's and run all the 12 volt in camper, but still need the second unit to make 30 amps for the 120 .
  17. Hey all, I need to travel from New Mexico to Wisconsin I don't travel in straight lines and will most likely take 3 weeks to get there. I'm thinking It would be difficult if not impossible to find rv sites for overnight so are rest areas open along the highways to stop and sleep for the night? thanks George the greek
  18. Hey all Im thinking about buying a Honda 2200i companion with the 30 amp socket. I'm confused as to weather I need two units to use the 30 amp. I will use mostly for boondocking to recharge battery's. Can I plug the camper power cord into 30 amp socket and also run ac for micro wave, t v, air-conditioned? or does that require an second unit hooked in parallel thanks for the info George the greek
  19. I'm reading the comments about travel cross state lines. Thanks for the info, I'm traveling from New Mexico to Wisconsin first part of May. Things may be different by then. I had planned to boondock most nights just to cook supper sleep make coffee in morning and move on . I would only stop to take on fuel . I planned I could get into a park for occasional overnight to reset and dump tanks. Looks like I'd have a difficult time finding parks open for overnight? Next question is where do I find info on R V dumps along the way I've found several free dumps in N M by chance. George the farmer
  20. Seeking opinions Ive decided to make South Dakota my home state. I planned to head there in a couple weeks and work through the process and enjoy my new home state. During these times of closures is this possible to do at this time? Should I wait? thanks George the Greek
  21. I have had an accountant for years doing my farm taxes. 3 years ago I sold my cattle and rented out the farm. The next year I had a farm auction and sold the equipment. Last year I sold the ground and buildings, next year I mist likely will use short form and do my own
